Should Windermeer be revived?

With the apparent influx of new players, there might possibly be a large enough population to support a rebirth of Windermeer (North American server). If this is the case, should such a server be revived, with each player given a choice of whether to move there or not (and guilds would follow the choice of the guild leader)?

I don't think the population is big enough yet. Perhaps with R2 and a media push there might be enough and it would solve the time zone problems but it would also mean difficult choices for a lot of people and enough would probbaly stay to make the timezone fix less viable.
So I vote 'yes' with reservations.

Since many seem to believe that the Karavan is mostly US and the Kami mostly European, wouldn't it actually exaggerate the faction problems if we all went back where we came from?

The Windermeer community no longer exists, and neither does the pre-merge community of Arispotle.
Doing this would likely get no one or few to move, and only new people would go there. If you are just trying to pick a fight, fine, but it seems like it really would cause more problems than it solved.
FYI, Windermeer had problems due to timezone also. We covered 3 timezones and branched out to several more. A North American guild has hard time choices to make no matter if they include Europe or not.
I think that I would prefer more sweeping large communities than several smaller communities even if it is cost effective. We could still stand to grow 10 times over and not feel crowded in my opinion.
Last thought, If you think it would do away with middle of the night or holiday attacks to move the Americans away from the British, I fear you are dead wrong.

I think this would be a shot in the foot. You cant throw us all together, let us build up frendships with each other and then rip us apart. While I understand the timezone diff causes problems this cant be allowed to happen. I would un-sub on the spot if they did it without the options you described and even with them its still iffy if you ask me.

Given the extent of the size advantage on one side, no, I think it would approximately rebalance, but only if people actually moved, which as I think we're almost all saying - wouldn't happen.
So it'd work in principle, but likely not in practice.

I voted no. I believe a "24 hour" server is always a better, healthier place to play.
If the issue is really about outpost defense, then either develop alliances with guilds that are on when you're not
or
adjust your own guild to recruite with an eye towards round the clock "crews" of members. You could even "rp" it into the guild being like a regimental structure and the various time zone groups as battalions or companies with their own localized chain o' command to settle disputes but still subordinate to the senior level command (Guild Leader).
An around the clock guild can be a tricky management issue and it will, by necessity, develop into a bit of cliquishness but it can be done. I know this because I've participated in creating such a guild in other games.

I enjoy mixing with both Europeans and North Americans (and others around the world). If push came to shove, and we did actually get a big enough population, then Windermeer could open, but I would prefer to see two English Language shards, rather than one English Euro, and one US shard.

Our guild has people from all over the world.. no way I'd move to a "US" server and leave them. I think most that are in guilds probably have the same thing going for them.... and wide base of players that spans the time zones around the world. It's a neat thing to log in at any time, and probably have a guild-mate around.
