Hi and big hugs to all

Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.
I started playing the trial last night after finally realising that WoW was starting to bore me to tears, I'm also an ex-EQ2 gamer.
What a nice bunch you all seem
The world is a wonderful, pretty and relaxing place to hang out.
I love the idea of seasons, weather etc.
And the community seems to be what I've always been missing from MMORPGs in that it's caring, non elitist and genuine... Apart from the player this morning that dual spammed me and offered me 2000gold to take my clothes off (ex-wow kiddie.)
Starting to get the hang of stuff although the learning curve is steep and the gameplay options seem really deep.
Anyway, I must stop waffling... A weakness of mine
I'm really looking forward to growing and forging friendships in this wonderful world.
Good adventures to you all.

Well if the currency was gold in the game 2k might have been quite tempting
Still a quick threat of being reported to GMs for harrasment was enough to send him scampering into the hills.
And thank you for the welcome.
How do we say it on Atys, *Huggles*
*Sat in work now and really missing the game, 5hrs and counting*

Welcome Kibby, I'm a 'new' player of sorts as well, although I played the beta years ago and am rediscovering the game. I agree there is a lot to take in; however, if you talk to all four training masters on the starter island and do their missions they explain much about the deeper aspects of the game. For example, one trainer explains about stanzas and actions and how to edit them so that you can customize them. I think once you get a handle on actions/stanzas and what they do and how they can be combined you'll find the game more enjoyable.

That's good to hear xmojo,
One of the things that is quite hard to take in is the Stanzas but I'm someone who gets a thrill about working stuff out...Even if it takes forever with me heh heh - So I will get there in the end.
Also took me a while to get used to the fact that the little suckling yobos (or something like that.) Actually hit very hard when you are as young as I am in game.
I died quite a few times in the first few minutes of playing which is a first for me in these games (usually they are very gentle for the first few levels.)
Looks like this game will have enough of a challenge to keep me interested for quite a while.
It's getting much easier with some skills now though.
Talking about skills.... I adore the casting animation for fear!
Found myself casting it all the time to see the levitating and coloured balls and colums of light.... Fantastic!

Hrhrhrhrrr...
Just wait untill you see the highlevel Animations
And as for "duelling for gold", well... some people never learn.
A duell is only sensible, if you kill him and then take his gold.
Offering gold for getting killed is stoopid
Even if there was gold here to beginn with... *ROFL*
Well, don´t fear (no pun intended this time), there aren´t that many suicidal bankers around these days.
Have Fun
and enjoy your stay
Acridiel
P.S. For some nice looks at the great FX of this game, take alook at some of the Videos I´ve collected thus far.

I've been watching my avatar fight with dual-wield daggers. Quite the show-off! The spinning-around, tossing a dagger behind the back and up in the air, somersaulting and thrusting the daggers into the creature's cranium....brilliant stuff!

Ohhhh......
*Starts thinking about being a fear casting, dual wield dagger player*
Sounds great!

Yes the dual wielding of daggers has a great animation, but be warned, you will have a hard time leveling it, as the daggers don't do much damage...
