*a day or so later*

Heat and light flooded Jelathnia's senses as she materialized next to the Kami altar. Coming from the forest, where snow lay on the ground and trees obstructed the sun, the desert was a shock. But after making such a transition countless times in her life, she adjusted quickly. After buying a replacement pact, and with a wary glare at the small Kami who resided at the altar, she turned and headed into Dyron.

Long ago, she might have stopped at various merchants to browse their wares. But now Jelathnia walked directly to the material merchant, avoiding distraction. In the back of her mind she felt the presence of her young son, who waited at their home in the lakelands. She didn't have as much time to be with him as she'd have liked, so she was eager to return to him.

After perusing the materials the merchant was selling, and selecting a few potentially useful mats, she placed her bag on the ground and knelt beside it to store the mats and take out a Fairhaven teleportation pact. By chance she looked up and noticed someone sleeping nearby. Picking up her bag and hanging it over her shoulder, she stepped closer to the sleeping homin to see if it was anyone she recognised.

To Jelathnia's surprise, it was Daemion. One she had not seen for quite some time. She placed a hand on his shoulder. When he did not awaken, she asked to borrow a writing utensil from a merchant and wrote a note, which she placed in Daemion's bag.
note wrote:How are you?

I hope to speak to you soon.
