Crafting: Difference between Modi and non-Modi Armor?

I made a Modi Parok Vest and a regular Parok Vest and compared the two, and didn't see a difference. I imagine I am missing something. I'm hoping I didn't end up wasting 40 skill points.

Its basically just a better cosmetic looking armor, same with the weapons.

Can you post any screenshots of the two different Vests? I'm almost to the point where I have to decide if I want to get the new armor patterns myself.

Modi Armor (and Weapons) is just a slight increase in the texture resolution of said item as far as I can tell. The main reason to get the modi plans is that they are requirements for the next set of plans (lvl 150?).
