Hello, new to this game.
And i must say, the reviews this game have gotten is really not fair.
I know i'm gonna subscribe, that's for sure

Now, i'm trying to get to know how things work here, and... I'm having some problems.

I want to become a good healer, in fact healing is what i do, I've always been a healer.
I understand it is possible, but this is where i get lost.
I use a spell and i get points i can spend learning new spells?!

If i want to do healing, should i stay clear off damage spells and melee abilities?
Or is it like fighting , healing and offencive spells are totally different things and i can just learn what ever i want on each of them?

Hope you understand what I'm asking, English is not my native language so...

SoR is classless, whatever you do, you become... You will get expecrience for any actions you do successfully. You want fight XP, smack a yubo. You want magic XP, fry a yubo... You want to be a healer, you just need to team up with someone and keep them alive. Bear in mind that healing must be done BEFORE the mob dies and after the first hit on it.

I made the correct answer bold

Yes, they're all different skills. After you hit 21 magic, Heal xp is counted as defensive magic, while Nuke (as we call direct damage spells) xp is counted as offensive magic. Basically, if you want to be a healer mainly, get heal xp... you can still get your melee and elemental (another term for offensive spells, the DD ones though) up as much as you want.

There is no way to totally ruin a character, the worst possible thing that can happen is spending your SP (skill points) wrong... but that's just a temporary gimp, as you can always get more SP and learn the skills you need... It'll just be a little delayed.

I'm abit smarter now, time to put my new knowledge to the test

In your better teams, during a fight you may see each one switch roles just as you stated. Typicllay your each playing one role during a hunt, but things go wrong and you will see the guy in HA healing, the healer nuking/fearing etc etc... when the smoke clears they are back to their initial roles.

Doing them all at once is not typical, but yes you can pretty much do what ya stated... you just may not get the XP you wanted
