Ok, so I'm out fighting things. Every once in a while, though, I get chain stunned. This is where I can't do anything for 20 or 30 seconds because I get stunned several times in a row - often overlapping.

Is there a skill that reduces the chance of being stunned? Maybe a good helmet?

yes the helmet. If you take target head attack you will see the affects against your target also.
