Where in the world is Lien ?

Curious minds wants to know, so here is an update.
I logged in Monday to discover that 4 of my 5 toons were missing, after sending in a ticket I had a few words with CSR. If I am lucky they will look at in a few weeks, and they can't say how quickly they will be restored (if at all).

So what does that mean?
It means that I won't be playing for a long time, since I won't sacrifice any of my slots. (5th toon is just a place holder for guild that never went beyond the sketch stage, but might one day get used.)
I have considered getting a second account, but that will only happen if I get a credit card again.

Who are lost?
Lien Chang, my main character, created shortly after launch of the game.
Kayzon, (almost) pure roleplay character, "Wo be a takin' buiss elsewhen, dam dryland tourists"
Cira (51+ fighter, HA crafter; harvester and jewel maker) Helper/crafer (and amazone :p ) used in the beginner area only.
Dharia, Fyros fighter, tester of weapons and combat arts.

Lien lost in the ether noooooo, but also seems strangely fitting for a Zorai mystic to have an out of body experience.

Really hope they sort you out soon with no damage, not heard of this happening before.

I'm curious as to where you get your timings from. From past experience I've seen most people with "lost" or accidentally deleted toons be dealt with in a much shorter period of time after the issue gets reported. The lost is in "" as it's an extremely rare occurence with the frequency of back ups or saves. Did someone else have access to the account and delete the characters? It's nasty. It's happened.

I know your report was submitted and has been passed on but as for "a few weeks" or not restoring at all? That seems a bit of a knee jerk conclusion to jump to.

I seem to remember a case of a restore that took 3 months (I don't remember who or what the circumstances where, might have been a player that have been unsubbed for a while), it is on the forum somewhere.
No others have physical access to my equipment, and I have never given out my details (except for the beta sign up for R2, which was on the Ryzom site, and I check that out carefully before even submitting the data).

Last I heard it could take a few weeks, and as far as I know you can't promise that they are restored (a lot of stuff can happen) and it is explained in the EULA.
And I reckon you are busy working on R2, so it makes sense to me that a restore can take some time.

In any case, my post wasn't about pointing fingers at anyone, but simply to info players that I know why I can't be reached ingame.

Maybe it should just be locked down and moved to off topic?

Aw cmon mate - we get your frustrated but is there really a point in having this attitude? :P if i had the extra weeks off i can't imagine how many drawings i'd complete.. how much more i'd make at work, or how much better my grades would be - but they'd all soar :P

So hey man, cross your fingers and hope for the best - seriously i think we have some of the best customer support in this game around - and definatly the best "I've" ever seen. give em credit - give em time, i see no reason why you can't just make a 5th slot for fun - and delete him once your old accounts come back? a lot of people are hanging around the noob island even _WITH_ their mains up.

Can't fault someone for "maybe" being a bit squeeky to get the attention he wants. To "us" as players, there is nothing you (the CSR team) do more important than taking our individual concerns to the forefront...

Not even sure what purpose other than attention the post was made for, AFTER you get bad support maybe a post like this...

This isn't even posted in the right thread.
