First one Malus, How does malus effect a fighter exactly I mean as in if my weapon and armour had a Malus of 100, what effects would this have in a fight and post fight.
Does it slow down Renen of HP ect ect, Is the Stam Cost increased as Malus goes higher, is there any maths on this subject somewhere, I am a lowly lvl 50 week old newbling and this appears to have a dramatic effect on me, to the point it looks like I need 3 sets of armour, one for Magic/harvest and a MA and HA for killling Mobs.

Second question Killing Mobs with 2 * 1h swords Vs 2* Daggers, Vs 2H sword, what should I be considering when looking to specialise.

Am I right in thinking Mage/Forager/Crafter light armor, Ranged weapons/Knives Medium Armor and all axe/sword HA as a rule of thumb without taking specialist armour.

Pack horses yes now that I have finally arrived at the mainland, a packhorse question, when I look at info on Packhorses therre are non, the Vendor is selling about 12 of them they vary in price from 12K not a misprint 12K thento 30K all the way upto 300K, how am I supposed to know what the storage capacity for each is if there info given in the info, any website Sticky on this.

Last but not least, rule of thumb for selling Mats, what % markup is the norm for noobish Mats.

Malus penalty from armour is a fairly direct % (eg penalty of 100 = +100% cost of action use) add to stat cost for actions used (stam, hp, sap + focus), in addition it will lower the cast speed and range of spells, and penalise the maximum quality of crafting.

Weapons have situational advantages, but by and large fairly even. I chose a weapon i liked then sought out the best use of it (spear/shield is my main choice).

Armour use is related to penalties its a personal balance of tast, efficiency and practicality. Crafting should however be in light or no armour.

The more expensive packers have differing speeds and health, which will increase their survivability if travelling with them, if used purely as storage parked in a stable then the cheapest is quite sufficient as they all have the same bulk capacity.

% markup 100% is ok for sub q100 (may get sold then, but never have your price above the npc sold mats), 200%-300% is acceptable for q100+. some will sell at cost (very low mark up) some at much higher, and some 'store' mats at very high prices, so i recommend filter use when buying, is also a good way to see prices.

Hint: don't buy the cheap stuff (<100K dapper), it's fodder (that's Mektoub food for you city boys). Click on what the stable boy has to sell and he'll give you a general idea of what he's selling. If you buy fodder without a Mek to feed it too, you'll find it hard to move, and then you'll really need a Mek for storage. The cheapest Mek is fine for storage, specially if it never leaves the stable.
