Hello all, I started yesterday on the starting island and I must say I am very very impressed. I have played a few games, mostly WOW and City of Hero/Villans - still play COH, COV, but I am giving up my WOW account to come here.

Things I like so far:
Graphics are top notch, stunning, very nice weather system.
Most folks are very nice, only ran into a couple of negative folks.
The players seem to police the world well, being polite and helpful that is a big plus.
I like the skill based system, though Im still learning about it.
I took the time to download and print out the newbie manual, its a great help.
The storyline is very good, alot of detail, it will be great for an RP'er like me.

Only slightly negative thing I have to say is. Folks when someone walks up to your character and asked you a question in local or says hello, take the time to answer. It adds to the game atmosphere and aids those who really wish to get into their characters.

lots of newbies still running around like headless chickens on the island so dont be put off if they dont answer, you'll find the good community bit only increases when you come to the mainland.

Wait ´till you see the snowcovered Trees in Matis. I´ve noticed that the Newbe Isle must be in a rather similar Climatic Zone to the Lake Lands. No Snow, juts bad weather and some flakes in heavy rain in Winter. But beautiful in summer.

Hi and Welcome to Atys *huggles*. As im new myself i must say that sometimes i forget that im on team chat window and even when i do answer noone except for my team can see it. And ive noticed many new players have the same tendency. Especially in rez situations saying thank you in team and running away doesnt do any good to your reputation unless the person who rez'd you is on your team Anyways hope you dont hold it against us newbs (i am trying to change) See you in Game!!!

The storyline is very good, alot of detail, it will be great for an RP'er like me.

If I may make a suggestion regarding guilds, it might be good to join an RP guild. There is a list here.

I say "might be good" because, although personally I love being in a heavy-RP guild environment, some RPers might not mind being in a regular guild, or might want to avoid joining any guild.

LOL, I dont think responding in the wrong window of chat is necessarily exclusive to newbies. I know I do that often enough.
