Hello All. I come from WoW with 4 lvl 60's under my belt, and constantly raiding has left me looking for something new to wet my lips. I've been reading over the forums and reading alot of articles on this game. It seems to have what I'm looking for in terms of gameplay. But one thing does concern me from a few posts I read. After the trial "nooby island" it seems from that it is hard to find people once entering the mainland. I don't mind soloing but I don't want to waste hours trying to find people to group with. Is the player base for the International Realm small or just they are all high lvls? Well I'm at 62% of download and I go to work tonight, so I hope to be seeing you all in the morning on my first Ryzom character!! Thanks in advance for answering my question and probably a few more questions to come.

I think the situation of a nigh-empty mainland will improve once the novelty of the Ruins of Silan fades and older players return to their mains.
Welcome, by the way.

Ryzom is skillbased, and the skills branches off at level 20 and then at level 50. Many oldtimers still have low enough skills in some branches to team up with new refugees.
The current wave of new players will hopefully enter the mainland and team up with each other. Joining a guild will also improve the game in many ways.

Thanks for the answers. My download froze at 62% on file 2 so I restarted it up. Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Yeah, I used a download manager myself, which also helped to improve the download speed a bit.

Morning... I only have 1 lvl 60 char in WOW, but somehow I don't feel extending my subscription there... the crafting in wow is a joke compared to what SoR offers - so it is very likely that I'll be a regular subscriber here too.
The trial island is a brilliant idea, I am advertising a game in my nationality's (hungarian) forums wherever I can

I'm also an ex-WOW'er. I just canceled my subscription as well as I got bored. I have to agree, this game has much more to offer in regards to crafting as well as what i've seen so far from building your own actions.
I think there are a lot of us non-children who are looking for something a little more complicated then using 2 pieces of leather and a piece of metal to make something that everyone else is making too.
I hope all future MMORPGs learn somethign from Ryzom!! (I still think WOW was groundbreaking though.)
