Hi all,

I stumbled across this game on MMORPG.com and i read that alot of old SWG (Starwars Galaxies) players were switching to this game so, i am tryinhg out the trial version. I do have a few questions which would be great if someone could answer :) . I have also bene playing WoW for the past month but its just not hooking me like SWG used to and im not a quest driven person when it comes to leveling.

1) For you vets of Ryzom, what do you spend most of your time doing? (Trying to figure out the end game content.....if there is any)

2) When it comes to Looting, is there any specific mobs/creatures that drop good items?

3) How is the economy?

4) Can players have Vendors?

5) Can one person be a Crafter and a Fighter?

6) Is there any type of Creature Handler?

7) What is the best way to level your character? questing or just random killing? (Im not a big quest fan)

8) Combat, mainly PvP, is it fast paced or do you just stand stil and click away?

9) How is the Skill system and what are your limitations to learning parts of professions? i.e can you learn everything for combat on Ryzom or do you only have so many skill points to place in certain professions?

Thats it for now, and im sure i will have more :)

Hi Jedidb,

I'm new myself but i have a couple of answers to your questions.

1. not a vet sorry
2. the mobs dont drop items you quarter them and get body parts (for crafting or selling) more of a realistic aproach. Unless of course its a bandit then he could drop couple of coins.
3. umm not sure
4. Yes and no. you could either sell your staff to npc vendor for normal price or give it to npc vendor for whatever markup you want to sell on to other players.
5.yes you can be a crafter and a fighter....and a magician, and a prospector all at the same time, its a skill based system not class based so you can do everything together without penalties.
5. not sure about that
6. before the new patch as far as i know you only received couple of coins for your troubles in quests, now it appeares you also receive exp. But killing, or random killing or even more random killing will give you tons of exp. Also crafting and prospecting would as well.
8. no idea about pvp im still a noob :) but combat is button clicking...just different buttons, and you do have to think what attack you want to use, cause there are thousands off combat skills (attacks) you could have. And of course some strategic running the hell away from 5 gringos that wanna get a taste of you :)
9. as far as i understand you could have anything and everything you want, also as far as i know noone yet been able to master every single skill....it takes time. ( i might be wrong on this one )

Phew and welcome to Ryzom get a free trial and jump in comunity is the friendliest and the most mature ive met online.
And the customary..... *Huggles*

Hi, I'm new too. I think by "prospector" he means "harvester" in SWG terms. You prospect (search) for items and then harvest them.

1) digging (see foraging/prospecting/making little holes)
2) none of them drop items, instead you get to quarter them for bone, ligament, skin etc. with that crafters will make equipment. there are named mobs - 1* purple, and bosses - *2 purple in each zone that drop sought after mats
3) player driven, has some issues with nothing to spend dappers on in mid/late game so the markets are devalued, ppl dont care about looting/selling to merchant, but it has potential, lots of crafters sell to merchants, leaving supreme stuff for auctions
4) nope, everyone shared the same merchants
5) yep, one person can be everything
6) nope
7) random killing, after lv30 or so groups work out the best
8) pretty fast paced, PvP is manic :)
9) no restrictions, you will end up with more sp than u need
10 phew ;)
