Trial player looking for a supportive guild

Hello everyone,
I've just arrived with the seven day trial and having not found what I'd like in the other MMOs on the market I was hoping to get a good feel of Ryzom during this week ^^ I got to play for a couple of days at the end of the beta stresstest, but other things came in the way and I didn't get into it after release. Also, I playtested in a desert landscape and after spending all my time in SWG on tattooine I was determined never ever to go back to a desert in any game so it had been a turnoff. A man can only take so much sand.
I was hoping to find a guild who wouldn't mind me asking a bunch of questions and help me understand the game. I can't promise I'll stick around, but I'd really appreciate help with making up my mind Afterall, a good mmorpg is half about the community and from what I've seen on these forums you're quite a loveable gang.
Don't know how I should label my prefered gameplay, I've played and enjoyed healers and both ranged and melee damagedealers, but I dislike tanking. I'm pretty much against the idea of spending time farming for rare loot. Doesn't necesserily mean I'm the "give me instant gratification"-type, but I prefer not to play games that are 'work' where you show up on schedual for raids on a daily basis. Ryzom doesn't seem to have that eternal search for bigger and better kind of focus so I'm hoping to find a more relaxed approach to gaming.
Allthough I find it great fun to group up, helping keep people alive and get things done, I also solo alot, and by alot I mean most of the time when grouping isn't really required. In PlanetSide which is regarded is _the squadbased_ fps, I spent the better part of 2 years solo with no regrets. I enjoy being selfsustained and following my own goals while still being part of something greater than my little character. I'm awful at taking orders, but I'm great at taking suggestions
I'm not the griefing/ganker type who wants to disrupt people just for the sake of disruption, but when there's PvP available I take the liberty to enjoy that by seeking out anyone who could prove to be an even challenge, or anyone who might call on help from someone who could be, which is regardless of how it may interfer with their own plans. For PvE rich enviroments I like taking occasional breaks for joking about trying to do unusual things or go collecting some gear to dump on unsuspecting new people along with buffs and cookies.
Now I realise I should be happy for any attention I might get from this novelle of a post but I wanted to say that I'm not interested in getting on voice comms and if people are using it then I'd rather pass on the opportunity. Half because I feel communications should be important enough to be typed out proper (death to internet/cellphone lingo by the way), but mostly because my spoken english is horrible and I tend to miss half of what is said to me.
My alter ego has ended up as a female tryker(edit) named Navia, but to avoid confusion I must point out I produce testosterone in real life. I don't yet know what skills I'd like to focus. I had a ranged fighter in mind, but have been told ranged attacks is unbalanced and gets outperformed by melee and magic. I'm kind of spectical about that claim, but I've not read anything else to confirm or reject it.
Thanks for your time and attention, and happy hunting out there!
