In the German forum I found a link to MMOReports preview of The Ring:

http://www.mmoreports.com/review/4/1

Not much new information, but there are new screenshots showing some of the menus with the options for content creations.

Very nice article. Most of what they said we already know, but what got my attention is the release date for R2. Now, this is the second article I reed that says the Ring will be out in June. Is this true? I would like to know, i don't want to get my hopes up and then have them fall down like a ton-of-bricks. But it would kewl if its true. :p

I honestly don't see R2 being out by June. Have they even started beta testing yet, or finished complete alpha testing and implemented all the needed fixes and changes?

I would absolutly hate to see something like R2 released before its really ready. If it works like they claim, it'll be the first revolution in MMO's since EQ. It really is genre changing. But if they release it and its broken or not finished, the backlash will be company breaking. I'd rather wait till january and know that it'll work than have it come out in june and be broken.

One comment caught my attention, and it makes a lot of sense, that nothing you get while in a Ring scenario will carry back into the game. That raises two questions for me:

1. Do we have any idea if Nevrax will pick the cream of the crop, and with suitable legal permissions and disclaimers, integrate them into the main game. *cough* forthwith *mumble* hereafter.

2. If I get started into a "10 act saga" and can't complete it before logging, will I have a chance to save my character and progress in the ring scenario, so I can pick up where I left off. In the light of the fact that Ring scenario benefits can't carry back to the main story, there's no security risk to saving the character on my local system.

Question 2 is a very interesting one... from what I understand the scenarios aren't persistant - so you can't save your character inside... and saving your character itself to the HD is just a bad idea. People will figure a way to do something with it. What they might have in place is like a ring state file that stores the state you left the ring scneario in...

but then what do you do about the rings that are GMed by other players? If you can't finish it, can you really pick back up exatly where you left off? There's also real time issues of getting everyone togeather again.

Regarding 1), I'm pretty sure someone of some important has said that the scenarios Nervax really realy likes will be made presistant without the monthly charge.
