Op battles and the radar

just a thought I had last night
wouldnt it be more fun in OP battles if the radar was disabled for participents of both sides for the duration of the battle
currently there is no room for surprise attacks etc as a battle leader can just look at his radar. Before some people flame me, remember it works both ways
any other ideas to make op fights more exciting would be welcome in this thread (we can only dream at nevrax listening), just please dont make this another PvP flamefest/anti PvP flamefest

I don't think that would be fair... not everyone has a high-end machine that can display characters up to 200m. This would effectively put people with superior machines at an advantage. The radar is the same for everyone, so leaves everyone on par as far as recon goes.

Have to agree with Rocci ...especially since my veiw is about 80-90 meters I think ... Its a good thought tho

. I really can't think of to much its to late lol ...(4 am) but I guess no more guards would increase some exitment

but I really don't like that idea
P.S, If I misspelled anything its cus its 4 am ... and im not gonna bother fixing it later lmao

Its a good idea, I'd quite like it. But yeah, the performace issues some people have would make it kinda crappy for them.

nice sig Jayce
ironic considering how many OP's outside of Verdant Heights are occupied by Matis guilds, did you forget where your borders where or did they get stretched?

Well good job on taking this Off topic.
But for the record: Atys rightfully belongs to Jena. All of it.

(maybe move to another thread if you wish to continue)

I think ( I may be wrong ) that he's referring to the fact that homins such as yourself originally claimed to be fighting against your karavan "brothers" in order to have a free lakelands, but now seem to be joining in attacks on karavan-held OPs wherever and whenever they occur.
Like I said though, I could be wrong
As for the original idea, I agree with the whole "puts high-end machines at an advantage" thing... it would be a nice touch to remove the radar during OP pvp but has too many downsides imo

Oh bah, its a good idea. I quite like it, wish it was something we could go with... maybe a compromise of limiting the range of the radar rather than turning it off completely would work? Take off 50, 100m or so... I dunno

You are right that there isn't room for surprise attacks at the moment, but I don't think that disabling the radar really is an option. What will happen in that case is, that there will be just a hand full op-pvp neutral forward observer who will do the perimeter observation.
If you would see something implemented like that, you will need dedicated attack and defence chat channel, and need to shut down all other communication channel that doesn't involve this specific op battle.
