I hate ryzom as much as i love it ,nah i love it more its jus too addictive. Im currently tryin to study for me exams which start in a week. Current thoughts are *{ jus log on for an hour then study after }* which i know will inevitably lead me to play for the entire day :( .

I want/need to be bannned until the 22nd of may : ) Souls if its possible pls do so :) *with one exception if the bunnies OP gets attacked * :P

Any other students facing this problem? or married men with wives threatening you ? :P

/tar Ryzom
/shakes fist

You need something like this: http://www.enuffpc.com :D

Never tried it, wouldn't use it. Remove this post if it conflicts with the CoC.

Hello all,

This is an interesting topic :) speaking as a player who has "had minor and sporadic conflicts" between real life and in game priorities :P (yeah, yeah, I've called in sick to assist an invasion, blame me!), your post raised a few issues. The addiction problems tied to MMRPGs are well known, and sometimes we need to be able to step back and know when to stop... but... can we?

* Is part of CSRs job to be "our dad" and to tell us when to stop? aren't we supposed to have the maturity to manage our play time? Do we need help from others to remind us that those swimming backwards fish are actually not swimming backwards?

I've heard of players who have purposedly and actively deleted their characters to avoid playing non-stop. No one wants to fail the exams or the get fired from his job..

just thinking out loud,

ps: yes, I play too much, first step is to admit it

Exactly Anissa , perhaps i did start of this topic in too much of a comical blase tone, it does indeed hit on very real and important problems.

MMo's are the perfect tool in which to escape and procrastinate. A world where once the loading is done and the guild chat box pops up you can forget all the Rl problems. How many times are people talking to you and you give them the absent minded 'yea' whilst playing and it turns out to be an important thing to do or remember.

Maybe the CSR's could have a tool in which you could limit the amount of time u play or in my case jus have a temporary suspension. Although the fact we paying is regualtion really enforceable at the end of the day

Everyone remembers studying, how you will do anything other than study(even cleaning the room or house during secondary school/ high school ). Im not that young of a player but i am obviously too immature or lacking in willpower to sometimes know when enough is enough. Maybe admitting these is showing maturity so il call that my redeeming quality. :)

i believe 100% that a lot of peeps playin this game and other MMo's are addicted to it. I know i am . I also think in life everyone has their addictions for whatever reasons. some socially acceptable and others not.some to greater degrees than others .Playing computer games is probably the most unrecognised one of them all (to non-players) as it is only really a past time of the last 30+ years

il stop now as im starting to ramble and have lost my train of thought . but my request stil stands :)

When it comes to addictions...

I'd rather play ryzom than drink myself silly and use social drugs....

But then doing all three at once is pretty fantastic :)

*dare I say it*

Imagine if ryzom goes under and we all go cold turkey -

There will be pale looking humans wandering the streets of RL searching for things to do, productivity at work will increase, the worlds economy will flourish, divorce rates will plumment, birth rates will increase, university lecturers will notice an increase in attendance - hideous isnt it - long live ryzom :)
