Wow..(and no...not the game)

I play world of warcraft with my girlfriend because she is insistant on staying with the game 'everyones playing' meanwhile I have been playing my baby (anarchy online) up until now...but after like five years, anarchy has grown stale...or at least, boring. I had a new baby in SWG, then NGE happened, and I felt a lot like alderaan post death star (lol).

I searched for months and months jumping from eve to face of mankind to neocron and so forth then i stumbled across here...all I can say is wow...

Ill admit ive not played this game much, yet. Im a veteran of mmos both in development and playing, but this one has got me pretty amazed so far. Im looking around, I play on the english server, dont know what my characters really gonna 'be' yet, but id like to hook up with a good group to get into the game. Maybe with a more mature crowd, im an ex airforce guy myself.

You probably wont see me post much OOC, so theres my introduction to ryzom, and ill admit...i think this ones a keeper...now if i could only convince my GF to switch, id save 15 a month =O

Welcome to our giant root-ball "Zoomie"! :D

The starter island is a poor representation of the game, but its intended to let you learn the controls and the game mechanics. When you're comfortable, come on over to the main land!

BTW, Fyros is the ONLY way to go! :p

There's plenty of mature players here, and a smattering of not so mature (read the forums, you'll see both). Lots of good guilds, take your time getting to know folks, then decide on your guild. I'm an ex-Coastie myself, but I play a desert dweller that hates water. Send me a /tell when you get in game, if I can I'll come chat with you, lend whatever assistance I can.

Lookin' forward to it! I usually hang around either Dyron or Oflovak's Oasis unless there's some good hunt or party going on... Thesos Pub Nights are always good bets :D .

Welcome to Ryzom and to Atys, Wrath! I'm an ex-SWG player too and came here after the NGE - the community here reminded me a *lot* of the old community in SWG before the first "CU". From the moment I stepped off the newbie island (about 6 months ago now) I've met so many truely wonderful people that are always willing to help, answer questions, help you get on your feet, show you where to hunt, how to hunt.....anything ya need!

Despite some of the junk you might see here on the forum (you know how forums are *wink*), the folks in-game are fantastic people to play alongside. No matter what you decide to do in the long run, you'll have great people to play with and hunt with and unlike SWG, in Ryzom you can do it ALL! You can train anything and everything your little heart desires with no worries about "skill points".

Have fun, and let me know if ya have any questions in-game!

/tell Sinera HELPPPP!!!

hehehe

Hey, Welcome and enjoy your stay.
Well, as to "playing what everyone´s playing", I´d made a more drastic comment on that before but will restrict myself to the old saying :
"If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you follow?" ;) :D

In the meantime, show her some cool footage gameplay. *point down, shamles plug* :D

I´m trying to convince a buch of my RL friends to switching over too, but well, all they´ve managed is to talk me into a trial of the WondersofWastedtime and... well... :D
Naaw, thanks....
Never thought that I´d feel so alone in crowd, when everyone arounf me was just spamming chats with: "looking for this, selling that, searching for healer, need people to pwn Onyxia, etc..." on a ROLEPLAY-Server.
Noone actually acknowledged me talking to them in RP.
I was completey ignored, and sat there looking at folks jumping around, over rooftops and whatnot, riding with their mounts into Banks and Taverns, and all looking almost the same in their High lvl gear... *shudder*
Sorry, but no thanks...
Interesting thing though is that the main reason for them not wanting to try SoR was stated as, "you´ve got no recognisable MOBs over there, just these "things", we´ve got MOBs were you can see wich one is evil..."
My reply was like "Uhu... evil.. Okay... Have fun."
Then I saw these "evil" mobs, walking around, next to "prey" Animals and well... doing nothing apart from.. walking back and forth...
Ahwell.... I´m happy here ;)
(Ah, and they are all in their mid thirties, like me... *sigh*)
