All I can say is WOW!!

I've played a few online games in my time looking for people who share simialr ideals to myself and who like working towards something greater than themselves. I've been invloved i na few communites where small groups of people shared these views, but in the end it just didn't work out for whatever reason.

I've helpded lead guilds in DAoC, SWG and WoW trying to create a community with those ideals but sometimes with the pool of players you have it's fighting a loosing battle.

I've recently left WoW where we tried to create a guild that could play the high end of the game, but was for the more casual individual, free of greed and everyone working together for the good of the guild...not themselves. It worked for the first 6-8 months. We had a great reputation and during that time 1 person was kicked from the guild and 1 left to join real life friends.

However over the last few months with Blizzard focusing the game ever more on the end gmae PvE raiding and it getting harder and harder to compete on the highest level a distinct change has come over people and it seems to have become more and more about the person than the group.

So I've pretty much stopped playing Warcraft and was looking for a new home. I had heard about Ryzom a little in the past but never thought of trying it. 2 weeks I decided to take the plunge and give it a shot. Starting out on the newbie island was boring....didn't see many people at all. took me about 8 days to reach level 20 and leave the island.

So I head to the burning desert and start playing there. Within 1 day I have met the most fantastic bunch of people who play this game for the sheer enjoyment of socialising with others and working for the good of the group. Some new players and some old...I'm just amazed that almost everyone in this game seems to have the same attitude!

Where have you people been all my online gaming life?

And to top it all off the game actually seems rather good to. Good graphics, a reasonable difficulty level with lots to learn.

Looking forward to meeting more of you folks ingame!

Welcome to Atys, Shrivian1. We were all hiding behind WoW, so nobody would notice us. And uhm... before you get the wrong impressions on the forums, last weekend was a bit messy...

edit: gah, count on Kibs to post faster!

There IS still a place apart from silly ***** about OPs. :D
Thank you for that much needed post here. *hugs*
I´m not from your Server, but I´d hate seeing this community devolve into something like WorldofWonderinghow....
