this was a very heated discusion indeed, but why completely remove all traces of it from the forums? This is really a hot topic among the community, and unless you guys are going to do something abvout the mechanics of it all and change how these battles are fought, how can you censor a heated argument that seems to be rallying the players into rethinking their motives for certain actions?

making words disappear in a forum doesn't make deep underlying problems go away..these are discussions we need to have, no matter how heated..censor bad words, but don't censor entire topics...and if you are going to..at least you owe an explanation why

It will continue to be discussed, in an intelligent mature way. Flames and abuse will not continue.

And actually I asked that the Upping Sticks thread be locked. That is was removed instead is fine with me as it was turned into a horrible thing.

I find myself agreeing with you Brock. Perhaps the more prudent method would be for the mods to delete posts that are deemed over the line, then issue warnings followed by the banstick.

That way a real discourse can be held, and the devs can see the feelings on the street and adjust mechanics appropriately.

Please don't turn this into an outcry against "censorship." This forum has been NASTY, and it really deserves to be cleaned up.

Deleting individual comments would leave gaps in the conversation.

As would deleting individuals - so let's just keep it grown up.

agreed..this is something though that is tearing the game apart, and something really need done to moderate it both here and IG, before it blows up to anything worse.

I know I was at the heart of this entire conflict with my little karavan haters move, but all i did was speed up would have happened anyway eventually. It's just good to see that it did get everyones attention and is starting to provide all the input towards solutions

How is tearing the game apart? Its making people get into it more...if you own an OP then it can be attacked, hence forth the declare from OmegaV. This is part of the game and you can only see by the mount of people that turns up to them that it isnt tearing the game apart.
