My Turn

What I find most attractive about ryzom is the simple fact that the world is much bigger then me. In other words, I, my guild, the Karavan not one, or all of us united, can control what will happen tomorrow. This is very much a living and growing game. Three months from now, things will be completely different. Does everyone actually think all the elite players will stick around forever, you know like Infinity?
The KA is not the group who created an alt or a player, rose them through the ranks of an enemy guild until they became trusted officers and then turned on them. How any guild leader or alliance can sanction such behavior speaks more about why the KA is dominant then anything else. Police your own before you start waggling those fingers of shame, you could put my eye out.
This is not just a war between the Kami and the Karavan. We have all chosen allies; some have chosen allies outside the recommendations of their respective governments. The old fame system inferred that through time alliances between the races and even national faction would be influenced by the players. This is no longer the case. But nevertheless, the war of national allies is being fought now. The Kami and neutrals want to first destroy the Matis, then the Karavan Tryker, divide and conquer. It makes for some nice plot backgrounds and is sound strategy.
There are some who will continue to bring up the fact that I have declared against two Tryker guilds, forever. The combined 7 players of these two guilds have my deepest sympathies that the Atys is not just a chat room. Not to mention at the only actual battle, the defending guild had only one member present who was never injured. This is an RP/PR war, a war that has been fought through rhetoric and misinformation and that will undoubtedly continue.
I have a responsibility to the 30 or so members of my guild who sign on daily to get them the most competitive resources available. All officers of every guild have that same duty. I will not tell new players, "Oh, sorry we can't do that, we can not take an outpost, we can not upgrade, we can not participate in PvP, because Snake, Alibooma, Chrono or some other elitist outpost holder will dig through every statement I have ever made or not made, in game or out, in order to make a pompous post (like this one I am writing now) on the main forums. Don't you understand, silly newbie, this game is only for the Beta players."
I expect to hear a few more "harsh" words from the hippies who are staging sit-ins at the PvP zones. They are trying to protect their own and they are using the only tools they have mastered, deceit and manipulation. I do enjoy reading the posts, it makes me smile to read the complaints, I have even found many of them to be a brilliant political move. But my crack heads need crystals and outpost mats and I need to hold a q250 outpost because me ego demands it.
I want my new members to know that they contribute and train for a reason, and that reason is growth. I asked them if they wanted to change our mission statement and just do what people on the forums want us to do. So we voted..."Please Forum" or "Please Pero" but there was a misprint on the ballot Pipp made and "Tease Pero" won..again.
So now it is my turn.
