You may remember my thread "Where are they now?" I created that thread because I missed some people that made the game great for me. It has come to light recently that it's not only the older players I miss but the way things were back then.

My game 1 year ago (approx) was a beautiful one, now I agree with Dazman that it has changed. I think the way he was slandered in another thread was sickening as he above all would have a clear view of how the game community has changed. He knew what it was like back then and he can see what it's like now. We on the other hand have seen it change and morph and may not remember so clearly. To slander a newly welcomed player back into our game is horrendous, are you trying to kick them back out?

I have read the threads that the pro-pvpers have spoken in and I find it distressing. My game has changed for the worse and my heart feels very heavy with the sadness that it's brought. The sheer greed of homins I find sickening. The post I saw containing a quote from Pero is the worst text I have read from this forum and shows explicit greed unmatched.

I think many people realise that this game is heavily dominated by the Karavan these days, but they have forgotten that hand in hand with that comes the domination of Karavan on our forums. I personally feel a bit alienated on the forums these days, as I have no reason to join in with the slander of everyone.

I have always played to rebuild Atys, to fight the kitin, and yes I looked forward to the outposts because I believed at the time our community could handle it.

This greed just isn't what I want to see, the slandering of players on forums just isn't what I want to see, The Saga of Warcraft isn't what I want to see.

I hear the pro-pvpers all the time saying "If you don't like it then don't take part". That's fine it really is. It's great that you can say that when you have the rest of the Karavan guilds ready to back you up and that you know victory is almost certain. As a Kami, every time I read the forums, it is like someone grabbing my face and rubbing it right in the doodoo. At the end of the day if you dont take part in FvF or GvG OP attacks/defense you are at a disadvantage. The items crafted from the OPs are superior after all and that is why.

I have kinda taken a break from all this and I have gone back to basics. I have been playing on the Starter Island. Boy o Boy is it a breath of fresh air! To get away from these politics, and ultimately the outposts, has been truely wonderful. I recommend it to anyone considering leaving but just cant bring themselves to hit the terminate account button (I have never seen it but I presume it's similar).

Right now I'm feeling a bit perculiar, I think I'm coming down with a virus (a non-pc one) and I think this could be affecting my otherwise flawless judgement. My time in the starter island makes me want to take Alibooma back to basics. This is where the real fun is.

I think I will draw a line and say enough is enough. No longer will I take part in this outpost warfare, no longer will I speak in Kami Chat, no longer will I be reaping the rewards of this personal suicide. I want to be completely rid of the greed and the hatred thats spoiling my game.

So what now? You might be saying. Alibooma will now lead a life separate to this and will only ever consider coming back should people grow up and show some more forum etiquette. (The first sentence of the golden rule, read it and understand it)

Alibooma will be Pro-Kami, but don't expect me to answer you should you be talking about OPs, FvF or the mats you get.

Well ...Thats not to bad an idea ...Maybe ill make an alt and play it..Since im taking a break after the OP battle anyway perhaps ill make an alt to play with some durring this time...Maybe that will help me have fun again...

If I have effected you in a negitive way with any of my post..im sorry but i grow very tired of the wat things are going...And I miss Ryzom...

to those of you that know her Jazirel has informed me she will be leaving game when I do and will stay out as long as I do...If thats for good then thats 2 players down ...Also seems my mom(lol) is leaning heavily towards quiting to O.O ...thats 3 ... my brother after hearing the probs..says he will probably not come back to the game 4 !!! my cusin was gonna play but learning of the things here has changed his mind ...5... tell me the comunity is not changing ....you will be lying I hate to say.

Now on a good note im hoping that ill be able to play again in a few weeks...
Guess it depends on the forums...heh well that is a bad basis cus ill never come back if i do that...

Think I am gonna adopt the Alibooma Philosophy. First hint of any of those things and I am not even going to be reading the post.

No offence inteded old friend, but i think you read the wrong way into peros (private i should mention) post (seems everyone is takign a dig at the guy)

if you actualy read it without a biast mind you may notice he sais that he has been holding off attacks so as not to upset people (because its ovious you people get wound up over losing something thats ment to be lost) but with the approach of additional content that its no long the case, and i believe he is saying that the guilds should now use outposts for what they where ment.

I've been playing constantly in this game for 15 months now Ali, and this game is just as good, with as many good natured people around as it was back then. Almost everyone is sooo polite and willing to help you out if you just ask. I still love it here, and will to the end I think. This negativity is mainly a comment about the forum etiquette I think, not the game. Well just do what I do and ignore it for the most part....and get gaming

[OOC] The delayed implementation of fame/pvp really messed up the lore/storyline part of our previously fun times. We were all happy go lucky and doing things with whomever we chose. Then the changes came in and to gain things there had to be "sides". Not everyone handles that the same way and a combo of the changes and the non-pvpers has changed the community more than anything else. OOC I have many friends on the enemy side, but some cannot fathom doing this without giving away secrets etc... Back with CP and Infinity, I could say I actually liked and respected the enemy.

The people are the same, but no amount of ramrodding by either side can make the "feel" of the game what it was. I honestly believe if we played the game this way from the beginning it would be a different game. Forcing the playstyle change when we all had a comfort zone made some folks rebel. I know I would be wicked bored if this small sideshow of PvP/OP's/Faction was not ongoing. I have skills that have been Mastered for well over a year... we are all becoming clones in different avatars since we level other things to pass the time because we like the folks we hang with.[/OOC]

Then this is a testament to how good the community still is in the game Doubletap. You have played Ryzom, you have mastered Ryzom, yet unlike games where the community sucks, you don't just move on without so much as a look back over your shoulder. You stay just to log in, sit somewhere and talk to people. Eventually you'll realize that the pull of Ryzoms awesome homins just isn't quite enough to keep you here. I suppose it's natural, it just hurts so much more because Ryzom is no ordinary mmorpg. Ryzom is the best, and leaving is probably the hardest thing you'll ever have to grind
