The Science of Homins

It would be useful to have a thread where all that is known about homins can be collected. So, post anything that comes to mind, ask questions, discuss...

First question I'm curious about, is how fast homin children age? If no players know, maybe I'll get lucky and the question will be answered in a Q&A. XD

If they age in Jena Years and at the same rate as humans, it would be at least two RL years before I could RP Jel's son as a separate character. o_o

any reason why we didn't evolve fully functioning toes? we have fingers that work fully but our toes (fyros at least. only other thing about are vorax at the moment and don't fancy askign them) seem not to be fully developed as discrete digits but instead are more like stumps.

You might want to base your timescale upon hours and days, since Atys also has 24 hours per "day". In which case the subjective time on Atys equivalent to 20 years on Earth would take about one RL year.

Well, to be fully "philosophical" and far-eastern now:

When a Zoraï has got no nose, how does he smell?

:D

But to come back to topic:

I think Homins are in a kind of symbiosis with the planet, not as much as the Kami and not as far removed as the Karavan.
The Sap gives the Homins their "magical" abillities. It´s in their body...
To alter a famous quote:
"The Sap is what gives a Homin his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds Atys together. "

God, I just hope there´ll be no Medichlorians...

The seed of life thrives in the fertility of your faith within. Kami or Karavan; all possess this gift and are reborn accordingly

As the wind bears seeds to the four corners of the world, so your seed of life can carry your soul. Think well on how easily you travel the wide lands of Hominkind.

As you must care for the seeds of life to prevent their fall to Atys; keep watch on the stars lest they fall from the firmament. Be united and care for each other, since a greater threat to the Homin races may loom overhead.
