Hi All,

I've just created my account and downloaded the client (1.5GB in about 2 hours).

The game has been patching for 9 hours now... just over 100MB downloaded. Is this the normal speed I can expect for applying patches? I know there is a lot to download but speeds of 3 - 5 kbs is crazy... I'm a patient person I just would like to know if I should expect this everytime they patch?

EDIT: I should add that I am in Australia and hello to everyone! I am an EQII refuge.

it's not only the download process, but also the applying of the patches to the files, if your cpu/hdd are a bit slow they might slow down the patching itself as well.

Nah it's the speed of the dload only... I am sitting here watching it tick over a few KB at ta time. Hopefully it'll be done by morning!

doesnt sound right... i am really bad with network stuff though, try having a look/posting in the tech support forum - there might be something thats holding things up

The latest torrent link from the homepage is almost completely patched up. I think there are only 2 patches to get through since then. If you have a good connection, getting the full client again may be an option.

The patching gets buggered up sometimes. If you stop it it will start over where you left off.

The inital patch seems to take a long time, the rest are fairly fast

I've restarted the patching a few times. after 17ish hours I am on file 6/10 speed has been consistent everytime. about 3 - 5kbs.

More time to read through the lore about the game

Aye thats what i mean, took me a looong time when i re-installd from the origanal CD's, but every patch that has been released since then has downloaded fine

And yes, thats what i done, read up on the lore and manual and stuff, a very good use of the time

i have the same problem, i can download at 2mb down, and it seems to be getting only like 60kb down
