Sunken City

Okay, this one is probably pointless and possibly absurd, but fun...

I am advocating the excavation and rebuilding of Sunken City. For those who do not know... There is an old Tryker city in Prime Roots! It is now in a state of disuse/disrepair and I was reluctant to explore it myself for fear of collapse... all I need is a twisted ankle making my spee unusable in Prime Roots... but, never the less, it is there. So, was it one time on the surface? Did it fall through the cavern roof, or have homin been here so long that Atys has grown up around it... these are the questions I want answers to. As some of you know, I am a searcher of knowledge, particularly lore, I believe we could learn much by excavating Sunken City. Not only that, but as the only Prime Roots city and trading post, it would be EXTREMELY lucrative to whichever society decides to govern and defend it.

I've alwasy wondered what city is there and asked lots of players older than me. How did you find out it's tryker?

Very interested... yours..

That's what you get when you dig a hole in a Tryker lake! :D

Tell me something when you do a trip to there :)

Atys is a living planet, the prime roots used to be on the surface and others grew above them. Eventually the roots you see in the sky will be the new surface and our level will be the prime (top) underground roots.

I thought it was a tryker city because it has the tops of the bubble shaped buildings they mold sticking out of the ground... as well as pieces of walkway like they have running from building to building... (But, now that I am thinking about it, the Matis mold bubble shaped buildings as well). I should probably go back down and take a look to verify that my first impression was right. As I said, I did not climb to it to much for fear of injury.

Yes, I am aware that Atys is growing. At least that is what I was told, but we could look at the technology we excavate and guess from that how long ago it was. Then we would know how long it takes Atys to complete a layer. We can also look at the ruins and see if their are Karavan or Kami artifacts... determine what ancient homin believed... It could help us know the truth, If there are no Karavan artifacts then is it from before the Karavan arrived? How can this be if we are children of Jena, and they are the guardians of the faith?

OOC: on the tryker lore pages there used to be an image of a statue of what appeared to be a Tryker HA helmet half submerged in the ground with a tree growing over it. Those can be found at one of the cities in PR, but I'm pretty sure its not in Sunken City, Wastelands.

I think most everybody knows that but some btis of archaeology could prepare us for what is to come... Did it happen as a progressive processs that forced homins to abandon theis cities and move up? Did it happen as a sudden natural catastrophe that allowed only some surviveors to move up? Did it happen as a migration forced by lack of oxygen and darkness? Lots of these places let us guess the presence of huge animals, some large kitin skeletons, but even more quadrupeds sternums and other bones lay scattered around. DId the darkness or changes in athmosphere componence allow abnormal growth in natural beings, or just made unknown huge beings get out of their hidings and attack? The fauna of the PR shows sure contact between living being and the Goo, but there is nowhere any Goo accumulation to be seen. We can still see the remanants of kami wooden sculpted columns here and there in these locations, but what happened to the kara, or where they not yet present on Atys at the time? Piles of questions stay unaswered.

A map of all those findings and scattered remnants of what it was once the canopy could build up for us a knowledge base to defend homin civilisations of shattering if the sky will once again get covered with roots.

You have a good idea but you must remeber that there are many remains of old cities and outposts still showing in the depth of Prime Root. You must remember Atys was once a green planet until the Life Giver gave life to Atys allowing grand trees and vines grow. After thousands of years the plant wove webs of root webs.

Thus Prime Root was born and if knowelge serves me right Sunken City was one of the cities the Tryker's built when we fled to Prime Root to escape the demon's we call the Kittin. When we returned to our lands we left those building alone and empty. There was no use for them any more, tho few did stay alive for a little longer for research reasons.

Atys may grow over its old webs but I'm not sure i thinking anyone not very our guides know fully about how Atys grows. The only thing I tell you is Atys is always growing and someday before the "Day of Judgment" we may move to an new layer and our homes now will become part of Prime Root.

Dont feel silly about asking a question such as this one, in fact keep thinking like that. We need homins with minds like yours, you could give good reson to rebuild research outpost. With the discovery of these new and strange material the drills have found we could use fmore research centers.

I would like to see a cost in dapper for doing this...I will happily try to raise the amount (I think I would have many donations just so people can see something happening). I will even be happy to pay the amount to either workers or those who choose to admin the reconstruction. [I'll pay the developers in their own dapper =P]
