Hi guys, Iam very new to Ryzom, just wanted to say that u guys have a really awesome community. From what i can tell from reading the posts and welcome notes i really got to say that the maturity lvl of the comunity exceeds alot of the other mmo community out there, which iam already starting to like.

Iam from australia and heard about ryzom like 2 days ago. I thought well ill see what this game is about. Ive downloaded/installed/patched the game and played it today for the first time. Having a background in other mmo such as eq1 eq2, daoc, WoW, coh/cov DDO and many more, it didnt take me long to figure out the UI and tweaked it to the way i want it. Though it is abit boring in the starting point cause nobody else is around=\. Iam only on the seven day trial period atm but i really wanna see how this game difers from the others.

I have a few questins:

1) is the game more focused on soloing or grouping or both?
2)is there specific clases such as healer, tank, dps, crowed control? or can u learn to be all those things? or can u just focus on one?
3)what are some tips/ that u guys thnk i should know to beter my play style?
4)Is there a max lvl cap?
5)Where the hell is the jump button=P (i can live without it but i do prefer one)
6)Are there lots of dungeons u can do? what about raid stuf?

My in game name with mostlike be DARQUE so pls send me a tell if u see me online. I will be on the english server

thnk much for the help

Welcome to Atys Darque
tiniq wrote: 1) is the game more focused on soloing or grouping or both?
Both. Fight and magic are more fun in groups, but you can do some of the stuff solo too.
tiniq wrote: 2)is there specific clases such as healer, tank, dps, crowed control? or can u learn to be all those things? or can u just focus on one?
You can learn all skills, to maximum level. In my opinion focussing only on one skill limits your character.
tiniq wrote: 3)what are some tips/ that u guys thnk i should know to beter my play style?
  • Have fun
  • Learn to modify your actions
  • Start magic attacks at the largest possible distance
  • Healing magic is like first aid, it always helps to have some level in it
  • Magic, harvesting and crafting is easier in light than in heavy armor
  • Ask in region if you need help, generally there are helpful souls around
tiniq wrote: 4)Is there a max lvl cap?
Yes. 250 in every branch of the skill trees
tiniq wrote: 5)Where the hell is the jump button=P (i can live without it but i do prefer one)
Hehe, you have to live without it. No jumping at the moment.
tiniq wrote: 6)Are there lots of dungeons u can do? what about raid stuf?
No dungeons. There are missions that lead to a dozend rites, and there are several bosses all over atys.

If you have a question, feel free to throw me a /tell Trini when I'm online, but I play at european times ;)

Hi there! Welcome to Atys! :)

1. Both, although Solo is a bit more challenging and takes far longer.

2. Nope. You may learn everything you like to and focus on what you want to.

3. Your playstyle is what your playstyle is. How can I give you advice on how you would want to play? ;)

4. yap. 250 in all lvl trees.

5. Sorry, no jumping. :( At least not without "magical" help. Some highlvl Spells let you jump in casting ;)

6. No "real" Dungeons here. We´ve got the Prime Roots. Dark caverns under the Bark of Atys, inhabitted by the most fearsome monsters. Raids are not instanced and are mostely organised by players seeking spacial Materials and well... Fun down there. ;)

In adition there are no "Über-Items" that drop from Mobs here. All Supreme Gear is crafted by Players, with the exception of some things that the Gods gave those who fought for them in the last great Conflict and atm two special Sets of Armor from Bandit Bosses, wich aren´t THAT special anymore ´cause everyone above a certain level seems to have at least one of those. (Here on Lenaon-Server anyways)

Edit: HOT DAMN! Lost another tiping duell. Man that was fast Thlau :D

Maybe you want to add the jewelry of some named primitives or bosses of primitive tribe to the list of lootable 'über-gear'. And I didn't had the chance to get one of the fancy boss armors until now.
