Everyone may say WoW is the best game in MMO history. But for me its the "worst" game when it come to time spend on it, time spend in raids, in battlegrounds..etc. So i left, and came back to Ryzom. Last played during the beta and it was fun.
Hope to see you all in game. Wont be sure what name will i use. good luck ^^

Welcome to our giant Root Ball!
Hope to see you in game, what race have you chosen?
Best beginners advice I ever got was stay on the training island until you get the controls mapped the way you want and you're comfortable with all four basic skills (melee, mage, dig, and craft), and don't bother taking a fight starters pack. Then move to the mainland, there's LOTS of homins here to lend a hand/ear/advice/gear/etc.
Enjoy!

Welcome back, ol' beta-homin!
Ryzom is different, but you already know that.

Welcome back. It's about time we recapture some of those old folks back from WoW.
My advice, read a bit of the lore about the race to pick your race. Then think about faction a bit and read some about that. If you are a outsider, playing a faction role that is against your races primary thinking is definitely a possibility.
There are still homins around that think neutrality is the way to go too if you like that sort of thing.

Hehe, thanks for the welcome. But its like 10 hrs now i am still stuck at patching, is it normal that patch is like never ending? It shows 10 files but its like downloading 23 files and it shows 4/10 files.
Dont hit me, first time experiencing ryzom actual patch system.
I should have consider Ryzom before getting WoW way back

If you have a DSL or cable modem connection it should not be.
They have also recently updated the bit torrent to be patched up to almost the latest patch. I believe if you click that link from the homepage you can download via bit torrent.

after i re-installed using the origanal box set, i had to download about 133 files or something.
that took about 3 hours on Broadband, so unless your on a 56k then it should be faster

It sounds like you may have a patching problem there
Where did you get the original install file from? I basically zipped up my install last June/July (Ryzom uses no Windows Registry entries AFAIK, or at least it works perfectly by just unzipping, no install required). When I first ran the game, I basically had to patch twice or three times (fairly small patches too) and I was ingame.
I'm wondering if you either have an ooooooold install somehow (bad download link maybe), or you have problems accessing the patch server for some reason (maybe firewall related).
Keep us updated
