Few noob questions...

(Sorry if some of these are pretty common)

1. PVP: Whats it like? The game i keep going back to over and over is daoc because i love the pvp. Its compelling and has a point and theres alot of it.
Ive heard a few cool things about pvp in ryzom and was wanting a little more info about how it is.

2. How do u determine what class you are? Is it all based on how much u do something? Like if i fight with a sword and do nothing but melee ill be a fighter and similarly get fighter skills? Or if i use a bow im an archer etc.?

3. Does race matter for what class i wanna be? Like is there a race best suited for a fighter, a mage, etc. Or does any race fill any role just as good?

4. Is there a certain way to build your character for each class? I dont want to spread myself to thin. Like try and be a mage, fighter, healer all in one or something.

5. Is there a rogue type class in this game? Like one that can stealth and go invisible and backstab and pickpocket and stuff?

6. I cant seem to get my camera zoomed out very far, like its almost right behind my character. It kinda bugs me, im used to my camera being way out.

7. What exactly am i supposed to be doing when i start off? Im used to games like World of Warcraft which has an immense quest system that sorta leads u from one zone to the next once your high enough. Which i like, it helps u get a feel for the game faster.

Thanks in advance for the help =) im sure i have more questions i just cant think of at the moment.

2: There are no classes in ryzom, you do what you want to do.

3: Races don't matter :)

4: When creating your character take everything except fight pack - this will save you some sp buying into a new skill tree, and fight is the one you can start with just a sword and the default attack action

5: One can stealth, but it's not a set of skills that you buy from trainers, but rather something you'll learn to do as you travel around Atys, avoiding the mobs

6: Can't help you with the camera, sorry.

7: Ryzom does not have an indepth quest system. You can do whatever you want to do, and this is part of the appeal for some players. The Story is given out during in-game events, through a roleplay website, and through the various forums here.

Hope you enjoy your stay here, and welcome.

Welcome, and have Fun here.

First of all I have to tell you that SoR is not a game like any other.
There are major differences just in the questions you had and that you see in the answers. ;)
You´ll have to get used to some things being not so easy as in other games, stalth for example. There´s simply no "Skill" to buy for your Charakter, there´s only the Skill you as a Player learn with time. If you have patience and a good eye for detail you will learn how to avoid aggro Mobs eventually and use the terrain to your advantage. :)

Training other skills is simply learning by doing. If you decide one day to learn crafting, then you buy a tool,a crafting plan, get some mats and try to produce something ;)

if you have questions don´t be shy to ask INGame, there are many people that will help you gladly. Although on the Noobi-Isle there aren´t so many folks around, because everyone gets to the Main Lands as fast as they can :D
Just do the same and ask around in Regio a bit.
