Little aventure with questions

Yesterday i had a great inspiration: harvesting supreme resources. I’m a reasonable guy, a born strategist not indulging into fantasies, always carefully weighting pros and cons. That said i tough, having reached forest foraging 95, i had the right to rule the world. It’s common knowledge that to be a ruler you need supreme mats, if you fail to see the logic we have something in common.

So i asked in guild channel if someone could show me an entrance to prime roots, eventually one of my guild mate (Hedokin, great guy :) ) offered to lead me into prime roots from Knoll of Dissents. I proceeded to explain my great plan consisting of the following steps:

1) firing up my 500m supreme mats tracking skill (well, i never really learned of to use effectively 50m tracking skill but i thought i could learn on the way, so i did not mention that on guild chat)
2) following track skill avoiding being killed
3) repeat 2
4) repeat 3
5) repeat 4
6) harvesting supreme spot without being sliced, blunted, burned, kidnapped by aliens
7) repeat 6 until inventory is full

I got some realistic expectations like harvesting ultrarare supreme resource allowing us to buy few outposts along uber equipment.

That said we went to prime roots where i fired up my tracking skill which politely informed me that 190 m away there was a supreme spot. After like 15 minutes of tracking the elusive supreme spot was 490m away, only possible explanation was some dark esoteric force at work. Thankfully Hedokin was there providing me with useful hints like what creatures were agro and what weren’t. I must admit my “predator-identify” skill is still a bit low, by the way who would ever guess that a “vicious, deadly, merciless, preying, varinx-zord” is aggro?

After about an hour (spent mostly circling around) my tracking skill finally informed me that a new spot popped out 45m from me. Some miracle lead me in the right direction until spot was 6m away. It was my moment.
I fired my 30m 3 spot prospecting supreme skill and 2 mat’s sources appeared. World dominion was in my grasp, i approached one and selected harvesting skill, a kind orange message informed me that my “forest terrain specialization” was not valid for that spot. While clock was ticking i started assembling a new skill without the once-my-ally forest terrain specialization, while doing that i was cursing everything that could be cursed in forgotten languages, eventually i managed to create a fitting skill, as a side effect of my cursing i think i summoned Cthulhu somewhere on the globe, sorry humanity, no hard feelings.
Well i was finally ready and, strangely, still alive. I clicked on my brand new harvesting still and... again orange message. My quality stanza was too low to harvest there...

A kind homin informed me on region channel that i could harvest with a quality 100 stanza in a prime root region accessible from scorched corridor in desert. So i come up with an idea that i promptly explained to Hedokin, i think he will play an alt for a while. Basically i want to buy as much mount food as possible, manage to get my stupid mektoub out of stable and run through scorched corridor to prime root’s portal. Now, do you think is it possible? I’m a matis n00b and never done any karavan or kami mission, will i be able to make a pact with some nearby altar?

lol and no not really.

The Kara TP in FT is probably the closest for that but it's a very nasty walk. Some pointers:

1) to dig supreme your extraction must be no less than 50 levels less than the region, so in GoO and Windy you can dig sups using a q100 stanza *but* your PR level is presumably at 51, so it will be mighty painful to do so. The better option is to stick with excellent and choice until your PR level increases a bit (exc at lv-100 and choice has no q restriction)

2) PR digging is really geared up to zealous kami and kara supporters as you need 60 fame to purchase TP's down there. however there are some options available. You can port into Nexus for EF, grove of umbra for ToT, Zora or KoD for US, etc.

Now this might seem like a real PITA but PR digging is in general a time consuming and often frustrating experience, but the rewards are many :-) personally its where i have got the most fun ingame i think, so if u are prepared for the long haul get digging! And if your guild membership/personal ethos permits work on your fame -)

[EDIT]
actually Nexus->EF->Windy Gate is probably the 'easiest' route for you to reach a lv150 pr :)

In case you don't already know: Supreme mats are VERY seasonal!

That's why you were having such a hard time finding them. They don't pop all the time, and even when they do it's only a handful of them... I guess that what I'm trying to say is: Don't reckon for even a minute that you're going be able to level PR exclusively with Supreme stuff. Not at any decent rate that is.

Personally what I always recomend is to get one of the main lands harvesting skill to at least 150; that way you're not only going to be able to get your PR specializations, you are also going to have material specializations, nice rate/speed and enough Focus to back your actions up.

Oh! And don't worry about Cthulhu, he is once again dead-dreaming at R'lyeh. He is nothing but a punk, I solo that thing this morning... High Priest of the Great Old Ones my buttocks! :P

From my weeks of experience in Nexus, I have identified that you can have your tracking running, and if the weather changes, and something meeting your prospect is available, it will sometimes change to the new spot that is up in the new weather.

Also don't be disappointed to find a mission mat where you track your Supreme source. For some reason this oversite remains for foragers to deal with.

Without the patrols, Ichor is much easier to navigate... continue (South thru Ichor) on to Nexus... Then head the west (NW in Nexus, SW from the spawn you will enter) corner into Enchanted Forest (Lands Of Umbra)... then to your closest tele (if you have the fame)... North for 150 zone, south for 200 zones.

Well it's your lucky day, not only do we escort homins between all the glorious cities and thriving towns of Atys - but Umbra access from Pyr is one of our specialities. For a supplemental charge we can take you via the rarely-used but excellently-maintained Outlaw Canyon Karavan altar. It's a bit rough and ready in that area so they're happy for Neutrals to use it to access the Scorched Corridor just South-West of there.

Once we're safely deep in the Lands of Umbra it's a short journey to Nexus and the two Neutral altars there. If your purse allows it, then we can also take in a tour of Umbra teleporter points. You will need to have sold out to the Kami/Karavan to use them though ;)
