Developer response ... What happened ???

The single most impresive thing about SOR at the beginning of this games launch has been the candor and honesty given to us the community from the developers.
All of a sudden though, this new lag issue has arisen, where are the developer comments ???
I for one am saddened by the fact that the fantastic CS provided by nevrax has fallen to the same ole' same ole' attitude taken by other MMO developers.... Silence.
IF the Devs come out .. even just once a day and say... "We found one issue linked to the Lag issue, it was a Rat gnawing on the cables at extactly 10:30pm est. US." We the player would rejoice ... "YAY we understand... those damn pesky rats rot in hell". Or any other semi reasonable explanation.
The fact of the matter is, we as the player community like to feel "in the loop" we like to know that the developers can take 2 mins and write to us telling us there is hope down the road and the problems will be fixed soon.
I dunno... i was totally impressed with the developers quick and honest responses earlier in this games release. I hate the fact that those fonts of knowledge have dried up all of a sudden.

I don't see how this has happened yet. They've stickied it on the top of the forums and have announced in game several times that the problem is known and they were continuously working on a fix.
I think they've notified us enough for us to know that they're aware of the problem and working on a solution. What do you want, a party thrown in its occasion?

This is definitely something I can agree with, i'd like to see some more involvement from our community reps and maybe some devs. It doesn't always have to be "official word from on high" and such, i'm sure all of you are gamers too and have opinions on some of this. Encourage the good discussions, there's so much negativity right now that giving the positive, creative threads a bit of a nudge certainly can't hurt.
Satchi: You're everybody's favourite, post more! Even if it's just to throw pies at forum members or comment on how adding cheese-yellow as an armour colour would revolutionize the game as we know it.

I think they're doing perfectly fine. They've notified us several times that they are aware fo the problem and that things are being resolved. Cerest does a good job of keeping us informed.

I think I'd rather know their time is being spent actually working at a fix.. rather than posting in these forums talking about it
Kind of reminds me of an old boss of mine some years ago. Anytime he felt things weren't going fast enough, he'd order everyone in the company (it was a small company) to write up a list of what was holding up productivity. To make a point, and out of sarcasm, I turned in something like the following:
Reasons for lack of productivity:
1. Wasting our time writing reports about why there's a lack of productivity, instead of being productive.
And that was the list. He read it... and got the point
Even got a chuckle out of it.
Seriously. Nevrax are aware of the problem, have said as much, and are working at a fix. What more could they provide? A play-by-play break-down of their progress?
Believe me, that they came out and said "Hey, there's a problem.. we know abou t it and are working to fix it" is lightyears beyond what I've seen from some other companies wheo won't even acknowledge a problem *exists*. Instead, they use smoke-screens and throw it back at the community with all these bogus work-arounds and tests.
I suggest we just relax and let them do their work. When there's something they feel we should know, we'll know.

I totally agree with you. Lately ive been reading the most stupid complaints in the forums.

Feh, I don't care about progress reports on the fix, I just want to see more board chatter.

Hehehe... Going to use that on my current boss Lupine... no need to worry though, I'll use your name and put a little "circle c" after it
First and foremost, please excuse the spelling errors... too late in the night for a "copy paste" session.
I can say this much for SoR... as far as launchs go, they have done an amazing job. I have witnessed a few in my time, and this has been the best so far. If anyone can point out a mmorpg of this scale that launched absolutely 100% problem free... I would be astounded. I'd even go as far as saying that 100 people would contradict it
But that is neither here nor there...
My long winded point being this... give them a little time. Yes the lag is bad, but being unplayable... not to me.
Still enjoying the game as well as I did the first day in open beta.
Difference being with SoR, they openly admit that there is an issue. They actually announce when there is going to be a reset... and they actually respond to in game help requests... with a real person, not an automated response!
Perhaps when thinking about the problems, step in their shoes for a few moments... They have much more than 45$ and 15$ a month vested in this game not to fix it... They care much more about fixing the problems so they don't have to spend time posting on the forums about issues that we all already know about.

I am absolutely willing to wait for them to fix the lag issues, but I'm not willing to devote time playing the game the way it is right now. The launch was good, though lonely. I received the game earlier than many and the first time I logged in I was alone... heh. I really thought there was a problem with chat and /who. Population seems to be slowly picking up, however, and I've met some truly nice people in the game. I'm sure I'll still find them when the problems are resolved and I get back in. My level of frustration with these sorts of issues seems to have reached an all time low lately, so I'm probably better off waiting until they're gone. I enjoy the game so far, and want to avoid becoming put off permanently.
I'll wait here! Tell me when it's safe to go back in!

Game hit its usual lag spot late at night tonight. Got fed up trying to do exchanges and logged off. Came back 15 minutes later, and the lag was gone.
One of my guild mates joked that somebody was running backup tapes when they shouldn't have been or something.
Anyways as a new release I came in expecting a lot more lag and it shows how hard Nevrax has worked so far to nail this down. I expect they'll probably nail down this problem about as soon as they can as well.
