Ryzom "Roads"

I notice that the brown lines on Ryzom maps seem to mark the pathways of the big roots in the Ryzom sky, they are not roads actually.
Each such root seems to have a pathway under it at ground level -- but the path isn't a road, it is more like a double line of "concrete" posts, one line of posts on each side of the path.
Do these Ryzom pathways give some advantage? Do you move faster when on them, and/or have a reduced risk of being attacked by creatures? Or are they just a decoration of some kind?
Thanks,

Well, they are roads, but mostly just useful as a reference point when you are travelling around. They do not give any kind of benefit - in fact, the creatures that attack you seem to be near the roads more often than not. Maybe they have learned that those who travel by road are an easier food source

I think in Matis it´s pure coincidence, that some of the roads correspond with the branches of the Canopy. In other lands there are no such correspondences.

I actually like them, they´re a nice touch, though in Matis they tend to be overgrown in spring, summer and autom. Someone tell them how to use a lawnmower.

The roads are not like that in all of Atys. The roads in Verdant Heights, the Matis homelands are. In other places they differ.
As for your map, it has been handed down for many years. It is hand drawn and has had many changes and additions. What it lacks in accuracy it totally makes up in lineage and inspiration. It is for you to make of it what you wish.
