How you can help get more players into "Saga of Ryzom"

I am an ex-Star Wars Galaxies player who left after the CU and NGE fiascos. I was interviewed in the New York Times (Dec 10, 2005 issue) concerning the SWG debacle.

Star Wars Galaxies was dumbed down into a kiddie game in the name of corporate profit.

Currently I play "Saga of Ryzom" and "World of Warcraft".

Like other people who have left SWG, I post to the "SWG Refugees" forum, http://imperialcrackdown.com

I am admin of the "Saga of Ryzom" subforum there, at:

http://imperialcrackdown.com/forums/ind ... wforum=140

People who run "SWG Refugees" have told me Ryzom players are welcome to post there.

Can Ryzom players post playing hints, screen shots, "Ryzom Diaries", and any other Ryzom subjects you can think of to the http://imperialcrackdown.com "Saga of Ryzom" subforum?

Descriptions of Ryzom combat, magic, crafting, and harvesting can be placed in "stickied" threads for those topics. I also have a "stickied" thread for Ryzom screen shots.

It would be great if Ryzom players who have left SWG could make posts comparing Ryzom to SWG (CU and NGE versions). IMHP Ryzom is very close to the "Classic" pre-CU version of SWG, that is why it has such a strong appeal to me.

Is it the case that spaceships and multiple planets are coming to "Saga of Ryzom"? Posts on upcoming changes to Ryzom would also be welcome at the http://imperialcrackdown.com "Saga of Ryzom" subforum. Also can someone describe player created content (another immanent Ryzom change), and the Ryzom ingame encyclopedia? A bit of info on Ryzom races, religions, and history would also be nice.

You need to make an account at the SWG refugee forum to post there, but it's free. Many interesting subjects are discussed there.

SWG refugee forum people are English speaking (Brits, Canucks, and Yanks) so most would go to the Arispotle server if they joined Ryzom.

If you want more people to join/stay in Ryzom try to get it through to the devs that Ryzom Ring needs to be scrapped and a proper expansion pack needs to be created. As a former SWG toon (left 1 week after CU 1.0) that Ryzom is seriously lacking completable Rites/Quests. I have asked about the Rite Strike team in Klients and gotten no reply. The PvP strike team has been hard at work. It's just a shame that the missed the head on the nail on that one too. All the devs have done is given Audrey a new outlet to yell out "n00b" or "You n00b" to people.
(Sidenote: Audrey remember what the difference between empty and depleted is in Primary Roots... :p )

Want more peeps in Ryzom? Simply get the following accomplished:
1.) Proper expansion pack. Shall Ryzom Ring (R2) come out, the game will be over and done with. French and English speaking shards WILL have a mass exodus.
2.) Rites/Quests need to be completable, more added
3.) PvP with a purpose. IE. ~ serious consequences should one side lose. (Maybe this is Spires in a nutshell?)
4.) GH bulk additions:
A.) First additional 10k Bulk available for 20 mil, second additional 10k Bulk available for 40 mil, third additional 10k Bulk available for 80 mil, etc. Seems very reasonably priced to me. Our guild would have paid double those prices just to not deal with Alt GH's. (Seems silly but this was honestly one of the reasons we left game too. GH's and alt gh access causing drama.)
B.) One thing I think SWG had right was GH permissions. GL can set all, some chosen individuals or no one to have GH access. I don't think they'll change this since they probably love padding the active account numbers with hte 7 day trial peeps. In a guild of 30-ish Real toons, we were pushing 165 total just to get more HO spots. Former guildies, on their on will, felt it necessary to make alt trial accts to boost numbers.
5.) New skill sets wouldn't hurt either. But only after the above steps have been completed.
6.) GH/Apt Resist bug and Flower bugs all need fixing.

Edit: R2 does seem interesting and shouldn't be scrapped all together. Just post-poned and be completed at a later date as a second "expansion pack". At this time Ryzom needs more content, more stuff to keep high, mid and low lvl peeps busy when they get sick of the grind. When peeps get sick of the grind. It's all too obvious... they leave.

Well.... Then simply DON´T grind.
Where´s the Problem with that? I don´t get sick of any grind, because I´m not into grind. I play, not grind. Simple as that. *shrug*

Ah and back to topic:

Not to have myself put into the spotlight, but it would be a good Idea to post Fan-Sites to your SWG Forums too. So people can see that there allready IS a great and good Fan-Base that they can connect themselves to :)
Just look into the Fan-Attic Section on Ryzom.com to find a few good english speaking ones. Or into the Ryzom-Links Section on my site :D

It has threads on many "Saga of Ryzom" topics: Ryzom Magic, Ryzom Ranged and Melee Combat, Ryzom Harvesting, Ryzom Crafting, Ryzom Screenshots and Video Clips, Saga of Ryzom websites, "Saga of Ryzom" Diary (game reports), and "Saga of Ryzom" fiction.

I am hoping to get more "Star Wars Galaxies" refugees into "Saga of Ryzom". "Saga of Ryzom" with its sophisticated combat and skills systems, and its detailed crafting and harvesting, is a true MMORPG and should have a strong appeal to those who have been victimized by the recent "CU" and "NGE" fiascoes in SWG.

Please visit the SWG Refugee forum, it has many bright people making posts and many interesting topics are being discussed.

If you were in "Star Wars Galaxies" please include your char names, your guild, your server, and a brief note describing your SWG char(s).

Posts on getting started in Ryzom -- Ryzom mechanics, Ryzom strategies, hints on how to make progress on each of the n00b islands, and how to prepare for and adjust to the challenges of the mainlands, would also be appreciated.

its very simple its called advertising. Nevrax as far as i can tell didnt even advertise in the US or Asia the biggest markets world wide. so its logical that if peep dont hear about the game they wont join it , as a lot of peep dont go around and read all the forums, how are they going to know about it . so if nevrax cant see that, well they have missed out big time to other games. but dont worry about peep leaving. if the population drops too low they will just join 2 shards together. like they did with the english and us servers.problem solved hehe :)

I have to agree about this. Not as a complaint but in fact encouragement.

Advertising in the US and Asia markets and development of expansion packs would guarantee content (whether good or bad), retention of many current players and the addition of new players.

Yah would'nt we just love to play on a 3-language server...
