Another way...?

Hi, all. I'm a long-time player of Final Fantasy XI, but I've been looking for a change. The amazing art in SoR drew me to it, so I decided I'd give it a try and picked up a copy. After letting my PC sit there for about three hours downloading updates (on my lousy dialup connection), the software finally let me launch the game itself. I registered and all that jazz, only to find I have something like 200 megs of updates yet to download! This isn't half bad compared to FFXI's gigs of patches, but it's still more than I feel like waiting on. Is there a way to get this data without the wait? A friend tells me cds containing patch files are available for Guild Wars players -- does anyone know if the same thing is out there for SoR? Thanks in advance.

Nope, DLing them is the only way to get the patches. The DL to get the game to begin with is an "older" version... normally patches are nowhere near as large as the initial one :)

The Ubdate DL , simply contains all those Patches that have come since release.
They´re normaly about 20 MB, or so. So don´t you worry and if your´re done DLing enjoy the scenery, but beware of the aggro Mobs. ;)

I'm at 80 megs of ~210 right now. It's not too bad, though, as I'm leeching off of a friend's DSL. Thanks anyway, you guys...hopefully soon I'll visit Atys for my first time. ^^
