Chapter 3 The Slit Camp

“Well there’s the cliff and that must be the Silt camp.” La’Beka said point towards a shadow that was being cast along the way by the setting sun.

The shadow was of four tents and a strange object floating above the camp. It was a straight path towards the camp, only gnoofs and a few Izam stood in their way. But like keep to them selves. As they walked over the warm sand the sound of laughter and questions filled the group’s ears. The sun was turning towards the group and the light messed with their vision and soon they almost walked into a group of Silt harvesters.

“Can we help you?” One of the Silt said noticing the group behind him.

“Yeah can you show us to the Silt camp we’re having a hard seeing?” Ga’Lorda said pulling down this goggles to see better.

“Sure we live there follow us.” Another Silt harvester said extending his hand towards La’Beka.

“It seemed a bit weird holding hands with these Tryker, they’re kin tho and well I can’t see.” La’Beka thought.

After passing a herd of Gnoofs and Izams the two groups came to a camp a camp about the size of the of a Tyker bar, The camp rested in the corner of Winds Of Muse, it was in the shape of a square. Aqua blue tents decorated with Tryker symbols were at each corner. Next to each tent was a fence that divided the camp into three entrances, each had four guards. The packers and the mounts were feed at a small stable in the very back of the camp and in the very center of the camp was a bond fire. The fire cast a warm glow over the sand and the tents as dusk turned to twilight.

“Home sweet home, enjoy we’ll be cooking in a bit so put your bags over there and have a set around the fire.” One of the female Silt harvester said pointing towards the closest tent.

As she said this the group of Silt scattered to unload their day’s harvest.

“Ah this is nice, a warm fire and warm sand on my back, this is the life.” Windra yawn as he took off his shirt and laded across the sands.

“Brother will you ever change, you always spread out on the sands to rest.” Aqua sighed at the sight of her brother shirtless and spread out cross the sands.

“Just like your father and mother, you two look so much like them and I see your wearing their pendants.” The Silt Chief laughed as he sat down next to Aqua.

The other didn’t notice they were busy chatting with the Silt about their life, how they harvest, and ways of fighting.

“You knew my mother and father?” Aqua asked before she took a slip of water from her water pouch.

“Aye I knew them, so different and yet so alike, strangest homins I’ve ever seen.” The Chief laughed.

“Wait how do you know our parents your too young?” Windra asked glancing at this young green hair Tyker with wind swirls tattoos under his purple eyes, his hair was a total mess but still clean. He had the face of a young Tryker just like them and he didn’t look very strong, so how was he Chief?

“Yeah I’m young I know, my father died a while back, and my mother before him, but they live in the world of Jena.” The chief said with a few laughs.

“Oh my sorry I asked, I didn’t mean to bring back bad memories.” Windra said feeling like a total jerk.

“It’s ok my parents taught me that the Silt and all Tyker who do good are my family. Oh I knew your parents from when I was just a tiny Tryker. I don’t remember why they came tho.” The Chief said starring up at the sky.

“So what for dinner we’re starved.” The group said sitting down with some other silt.

“Ragus and some of our famous Silt Crystal Berry noodles, I hope you like it.” A Silt woman said starting to boil some water in medium size shell bowl and putting some ragus meat on roasting sticks.

“So how are getting to Prime Root, I though the only portal there is in Beach of Bounty?” Sa’Binga asked while he slurped down some noodles.

“There is a very old portal by the Kami alter, it will take you straight to one of our alters, we’re going to close it but we’ll leave it open for now.” The Silt Karavan ambassador said just returning from a meeting.

The sky was now deep purple, stars appeared one by one, and a cool breeze blew across the land. The breeze blew through the camp causing the fire to flicker and the tents flaps to flap back and forth. It was the best wind one could feel. It was a wind that wrapped it self around you lifts your spirits high into the sky.

“So what are the Zorai like anyway?” Aqua asked before taking a sip of Berry Wine.

“They’re cowards!” A female Silt yelled slamming her fists into the ground with tears in her eyes, she then ran off.

“What did I say?” Aqua asked glancing from Silt to Silt.

“Forgive her she lost her family to the Kittin. Her family were close friends with the Zorai but when they ran to them for protection, they close their gates. The Karavan saved her when she was just a baby it was her mother last wish.” A Silt Gunner said taking a huge swig of wine.

“Meat’s done.” La’Beka said try to change the sad subject.

“Good these noodles don’t really fill you pup” Ga”Lorda said slurping up more noodles.

“I’m going to see if she’s ok I’ll be right back.” Windra said slipping his shirt back on.

“Ah ok be careful.” Aqua said wondering why her brother was acting so strange.

The moon was high as it cast its reflection on the lake, as Windra walked along the side of a cliff we let him mind wander as he dug his feet deep into the cool sand. He took a deep breath and gazed up at the sky. The planets and the stars cast a great beauty across the sky. Windra traced the moon’s shine till it hit the lake when he noticed ripples were shooting from the center of the moon’s reflection. He then noticed a Tryker was down by the shore skipping stones. It was her.

“Are you ok?” Windra said in the calmest voice he could muster due to the fear of being attacked.

“No I’m not ok, I hate every one of those traitors the Zorai, my family may still be alive if those Zorai weren’t cowards.” The Silt yell tossing a ice ball across the lake.

“They were our friends but they closed their gates on us, they dissevered what they got for abandoning their allies!” She cried and fell against a palm tree crying.

“Don’t feel bad Aqua and I lost our parents to those monsters. They left one day and promised us they would be back. That night Aqua and I fell sick and none of the healer could stop the cold sweat, the visions of death, and wounds appearing out of no where. Then it all stopped, a huge pain shot through our body like a poison, our blood ran cold and it felt like we’re about to die. But we didn’t we passed out with tears in our eyes, we felt our parents die.” Windra casting a wind spell across the lake.

“Oh my.” The Silt said but stop lost for word. Tears slowly dieing away, but she didn’t move even tho her skirt was cover in water marks,

“Wait your, Windra I read stories about you and your group and how you helped stop the dragon!” The Silt stood up at ounce and ran to hug Windra.

“What are you talking about?” Windra asked holding at bay.

“He mustn’t know about his and his sister’s past, not yet I will tell them.” A voice said in the Silts mind.

“A nothing my mistake, I feel a lot better knowing that someone else shares my pain, I guess I let the past get hold of me.” She said with a little giggle

“You did let past rule your life but don’t forget the past it’s the key to our future, just don’t let it rule your life.” Windra said with a smile as he hugged her. As he hugged her all the anger for the Zorai left her body and mind, she was a peace with the Zorai again.

“Come on lets get back to camp before the food is all gone.” Windra said as he started to walk toward camp.

“They truly are the Wind and Water Guardians, they have been reborn” The Silt said to herself as she jogged to catch up to Windra.

“By the way my name is Ve’Colad but you can call me Colad” Ve’Colad said with a smile as he caught up with Windra.

That’s a nice name, it’s a pleasure Ve’Colad.” Windra said with a smile. Ve’Colad smiled back.

As they walked back Windra noticed the green light shining on the camp was a Karavan craft. Windra just laughed at how he didn’t notice what it was sooner.

“Are you ok hun?” The Chief ask seeing that the two had returned.

“I feel a lot better, I now know I’m not alone in the lost of my family.” Ve’Colad sat sitting down and started eating the ragus meat.

While the other talked about the trip in the morning Windra and Ve’Colad scarfted down the last of the ragus meat, noodles, and the Berry Wine. They took a bite of the meat, a slurp of the noodles and a sip of the wine. But they eat it faster then a hungry ragus and torbak. Everyone watched in amazement as two Trykers ate like hungry torbaks.

Soon the fire was nothing but glowing cinders. The land was quiet everything was asleep only the sound of Stinga filled the air, and the sound of creatures sleeping. Everyone was asleep at where in the camp, so in tents other sleeping against each other and the rest were sleeping on the cool sands. Windra was the only one awake and the Karavan ambassador.

Windra was starring at the sky and was wondering. “Why is everyone acting so strange around us. Everything seems to intertwine with my parents, what happened on the horrible night when we felt our parents died.

“You should get some sleep young one it’s late.” The Ambassador said seeing Windra was still starring at the sky.

“I can’t sleep everyone I know is finding something from Aqua and me, what happened on that night?” Windra asked with a slightly angry voice.

“That something I can’t tell you, but someone else can, but now sleep.” The ambassador said as she sent a shockwave through Windra’s body knocking him out. As he fell the Ambassador caught him and laid him down on the sands.

“Your in the hands of Jena now, when you awake you will be in Zorai young one.” The Ambassador said as she ran her hands over Windra head.
