my character name is TheCore and me and Deandra are on our 4th or 5th day and loving it, it's nice to have complexity back in a game again (pre-CU SWG refugees).
right now, i really only have one question...
is it possible to lock the windows in the hud so every time i forget to hit enter before i type i don't have to poke thru the keyboard trying to get everything i had back on my hud ?
thanks, i appreciate the help.

Welcome to Atys
No you can't lock the windows. You can remap the keys that open and close them, though. I'd suggest that you make sure that the windows you want to stay open use a modified keystroke to open/close, such as Ctrl-M or Alt-M for the map instead of just M. Or just disable their keystrokes entirely

. Click the Windows button to change the assigned keystrokes, or press K (I think) to edit all of your keystrokes.

i find setting 'escape to quit chat' is more usefull.. but that is cos i spend most of my time standing around chatting
it is on the right hand side on the 'game' tab
give me a shout if you ever need a hand ingame

You might want to wait a bit before remapping keys as the interface is soon to change. Check out

for the time being a remap was the easiest way to go, just adding alt before the tabs/windows i like to keep on my hud will easily take care if this. thanks for the advice and the welcome guys, it's great to be here.

ummm... yeah...
... here we go again.
as a 3 day player, it took a little getting use to, like 3 days

, but learning the hud, commands, and interface of a new game is part of what makes it fun. these changes have me a little nervous being that changes of this type pretty much DESTROYED another game.

Heey, welcome to ryzom, if you're looking for a complex and subtle game, you've just found it.
My entire guild came here from SWG when the NGE hit. We found new friends here and are now a more diverse group. Having tremendous fun and high hopes for the future.
If you have questions, feel free to send a tell to goupi or faa.
