Observations from a new player.

Been playing the game now for a little more then a week and just some observations.
The graphics in game are the best I have ever seen. I am so drawn into it. The sound in game is ok but not the best. I do like the MP3 player that actually works but don't know what program can create a play list for it. The combat is fun I think though a little confusing. This is where the drawback is I think.
The game itself is not very intuative. Not all the skills are explain well in thier function. The controls are not as configurable as I would like but I'm getting used to them. Wish you could bind more then one key to a single action.
The Missions are a little confusing, or at least some are. It does not give you a tell tail sign that an NPC is roaming or stationary. Some missions just tell you the region they are in and that's it. Maybe I just don't have the grey matter in my head to figure some of them out.
As mentioned before, the combat system is not very intuative, 1 star, 2 stars, 3 stars, 1 star blue, 2 star blue, it is all very confusing to me. Now granted I have only been playing for a little more then a week. I hope to figure it out by trial and error soon and yes, purple is BAD I know lol.
I have only really RP'd once with on person so far so don't know how good the RP is here. Had a great time though and the community seems friendly enough for sure.
My only hang up is that it is not very intuative. Much is left to back out and search to figure out missions and others aspects of the game. The in game help so far has not been as detailed as I would like or straight forward, just for me so far.
It is a great game though in that it leaves many options I think open for character developement. Just wish there was more information in-game when questing about the quests and a little bit more documentation on the combat system. Maybe there is and I have not found it. Anyway, will keep playing because the over all imersion is great. Just wish the game was a little bit more intuative.

Sadly I don't think the player works with playlists
You can select mulitple tracks that are in the same folder and it will just play them alphabetically, but that's as good as it gets

Generally if it just says the region - the NPC wanders around... if it says a town, then they're standing around
The exception is it will say just in the region for NPCs in tribe camps too

hehe, the colour tells you the level range of the mob - it goes blue < yellow < orange < red < purple (and I think theres a green in there somewhere too...) The number of stars shows you how tough the mob is
compared to others of the same species... a 5* yubo is tougher than a 4* yubo, but not necessarily tougher than even a 3* gingo :O

I think the RP really depends on who you try to do it with - there are some very good RP-opportunities if you can find them

the colours of the mobs is actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. blue = 50 and below , as in a 2* blue is equal roughly to you being lvl 20 . if you are say 20 in melee you should go for a 3 star blue to get most xp and higher. yellow is 50 - 100 , orange 100-150 , red 150-200 and then the nice old purples which you dont need to worry bout coz if you going after them then you have figured out all the above already. type of creature does count, aggresive creatures generally are tougher than there herbivore counterparts, unless the herbie is visibly covered in lots of armour like a plod. hope it helps a bit
enjoy
Xycox- currently the most negligent HO on arispotle, playing civ IV but il be back in soon

true, and some of the roaming ones really roam
if you are doing delivery missions there are additional clue's in the type of item you have to deliver but as with almost everything it's not documented and up to the player to discover (good thing imho)

The MP3 player can handle M3U playlists.

It does work with playlists. I'm not sure what's different between the ones that work and the ones that don't though.

hmm... why do you want to bind (for example) two keys (lets say A and B) to do one action (lets say both open "Actions" window) ?
it's possible btw... press shift+K (i think that was for macros) and you can make 2 macros with same command but different hotkey. you can even drag macro to your hands bar and use it from there.
other way is possible too
, bind "actions" and "players info" (or more than 2) to one key.

You're right about this. But you're in luck! Check out the spiffy new
manual. I haven't read it all, but the basics are there (plus it looks good). Go
here for comments and suggestions. Your feedback as new player is probably even more valuable then of the older players! At least that's what I think.
And welcome!

Well I use both my hands for movment depending on what I'm doing. In surveying or combat, I would like to use the arror keys with my right hand for moment and when just traveling, use the W, S, A, and D keys with the mouse to just move and look around. I also use my thumb buttons on my mouse to move forward and backwards. It's mainly a convenience and not a show stopper per say, but that's what I mean about binding mutliple keys/mouse buttons to a single action, mainly movement.
