TP Safe Zones...bad implementation?

Not to complain about the new safe zones around the TP for pvp (actually good move), but I find it disturbing that it was done rather sloppily. Today I witnessed a Karavan vs Kami pvp battle where the Kamis were at the Karavan TP and untoucheable. Maybe it's just me, but I find that odd. Jena and the Karavan would have no reason to bestow any safety to kami-aligned. Likewise, I would not expect to be in a pvp battle and be safe near a Kami TP.

Of course I can see the backlash if the TP is only safe for those that are faction-aligned (a faction can just stay near their TP to run into it when almost dead, etc), but it makes more sense.

I agree that they need to work on them, but I disagree on the removal of the safe zone based on faction. It should be allowed for everyone, simply for the main reason they were implemented, loading times and not being able to react if attacked. However, I don't think that a char that is in the safe zone should be able to heal a player that is involved in PvP. This allows a healer to be untouchable, while keeping a nuker full of stats. I witnessed today 3-4 healers healing a single nuker. The only one out of that safety zone was the nuker. Essentially, no matter how much damage he took, he was almost instantly healed and back to nuking. If you get involved in the PvP battle, the safety zone should no longer apply. The zone were designed to stop people being ganked while porting, not provide a shield for those involved in a battle.

I understand the porting part...however, a Kami can't port to a karavan TP. Oo; Unless they bought a gazillion Kara TPs or a Karavan bought a gazillion kami tps (personally, I think devs should disable those tps bought...that would be funny. :p )

I can understand when one logs back in near a TP and happens to have their pvp tag on...that can be the exception (and understandbly so).

So a middle ground may be: safe zones but no actions possible unless ya step out and can't immediately step back in (a timer of sorts). So, it stops being from being ganked when they respawn/tp but once they step out...they pretty much step out for good and can't get the safety for some mins.

agreed... make them like the TPs are with mobs. You can't run up to a TP and be instantly safe. theres a timer that has to count down before you're granted that protection. If you attack the mob or start healing, the protection is removed.

This is very odd, Kami follower at a Karavan tp,this makes no sense. Kami would never allow it same with the Karavan. You must be missing something about that battle. Its not like the Karavan and the Kami can be bought off. Haha never in a million moons would that ever happen.

Still you must be missing something, this is just to odd.

Actually, it's not as odd as you think.... Oo;

They were fighting in Yrkanis.

You'd have to have any timer only activate only one the way out of the zone, not on the way in. Having it on the way in means you can be nuked while you're loading after TP :D

Just disable the PvP tags for 20 secs or so after porting in , that way noone can cast on you and you dont need safe zones

I meant you can't go back INTO the safe zone by running back into it. TPing into the zone is a different story. I meant AFTER once ya tped in..ya can't run out and run back in for safety.

So an auto-disable? Only prob is that some people take more than 20 seconds to port. :/

Well I did say "or so" :)

Just seems easier than messing with safe zones + timers going in and out , the Safe Zone was to address the problem of getting "Ganked" porting in but only seems to have created more probs , so scrap it and just disable PvP (Suspend the Tag) for ppl who have just ported (or spawned) instead
