How to make friends and influence people

(This post is completely IC)
I find it interesting, especially in light of the recent information about the new alliance, that we a neutral guild are now being attacked, by a Karavan guild.
Why then attack a neutral guild who fight defensively within their alliance and who trades with all sides, bringing the bounty that their outpost has provided to homin of all stripes on Atys?
Our guild contains homin from all peoples and from many different points of view, yet we manage to live and work together in peace as one guild, one family. We achieve more by working together and understanding each other than we would in dividing ourselves from each other and warring upon former friends.
The alliance we are part of has Kami members, yes, but it could also have Karavan members. The beginnings of the alliance comes from those we have grown up with, those we trust and those who share the vision that most of us have of a prosperous Atys, safe from the Kitin. If there are not yet any Karavan guilds amongst that number only because they have yet to express interest. I am sure the alliance would consider any guilds who share our vision of a defensive, peaceful alliance for inclusion in that alliance.
This action though, attacking a group who assists all sides seems contemptible and strange. Those who seek to attack us aggravate the Kami forces who do not wish the Karavan to have a foothold in their lands and they aggravate all those who still believe in peace, prosperity and neutrality of any type.
Perhaps we were considered to have no allies, no friends and yet that is not the case, because those other than our attackers see the value we bring in trade and in support when we are called.
Perhaps they are scared to take on the Kami forces directly and believe us to be a soft target?
Win or lose, well still be here, but there may be some of you who will have to pay more for our help.
Wouldnt you rather we traded with you and fought by your side?
Wouldnt that make more sense?
