Well, go and read the mmorpg story written by Jessica to found all the great things she has to say about R2.
Must admit she convinced me, now I became really curious about what other people might be able to create.

Is there a link, or am I meant to guess where it is?

- nevermind

Think she is frustrated or angry about something? They must have axed all of the corporate spokesperson type folks at the main office that do the proof reading for those words to head into a publication type article.
Noin.

Does sound out of character, even after a few glasses of wine, but I'm only met Jessica the one time. But given the currently climate and the obvious rebuttals ("player made content isn't new", "testing of R2 isn't going so hot, one or two posts a week on the R2 forums", etc...) I can see where some of the hostility is coming from. Hopefully the RP'ers will be given a tool set that allows them to move mountains, direct story driving NPC's and have triggered events. Character mods would be cool too. We've seen what sprite junkies can do for the FPS world already. Give them the ability to tell a story and things are gonna be cool.
My misgivings is R2 is advertised as giving players access to the same toolsets as the developers... And we've seen the level complexity in-game events are, how effective the NPC's are at delivering a story, and how resourceful the EM's are to direct the story.
Keeping my fingers crossed,
Raku

ok gonna mess things up a bit..sorry in advance but
so r2 then...basically like build your own command and conquer map....
given that er nearly everything in the game is copy and paste i sure hope the plans for r2 include alot of options (looking at the screenies, it seems the same old shengus)...maybe im being short sighted, i wanna play game not a (half written) dungeons and dragons book.
also missions :S given that no one bothers to do em they sure better make the player created ones something good :S....(npc player mission giver/hoster with ability to hold goods already requested

)
jogg on~

Umm...Think you've missed the point here. Players will
make the missions, thus they could be anything.

Anything within the capabilities of the client to create

Yes but still player created, not nevrax created. I could be pretty creative given jsut the constraints of our current mission system.
All ya need is a good imagination.
