Hi there fellow ryzomians..? Is that what you'd say? Well that's what I'll say anyway.
I just joined Ryzom on monday and so far I think it's fun. I've played Guild Wars and Final Fantasy XI, so I'm not a total mmorpg noob. I'm a Zorai named Emperorsean and have made it to the mainland. I'm a level 25 Fight and 18 Magic, so I've been at it for a little. My main question is about partying, because I haven't seen any people party and no one's asked me. Is this game more solo oriented or are the party areas ahead of me? Oh and if anyone sees me online I'll chat or party or whatever.
See ya

Welcome to Atys!
The game is group oriented, though solo is quite possible also. It just happens that you chose the race with the lowest population. Try to get in on a trip to one or more of the other capitals and you will find more people to group with. Timezones are another factor. North American (and especially west coast) players can find the place pretty empty after all (or most of) the Europeans have gone to bed.

Welcome to the Saga.
Transportation on the New Lands is different from the refugee islands. There is Altars spread around the known world that provide Teleporter pacts dependant on your standing with the Factions. These Teleporter pacts are a way to re-visit a place you have been to before. So in order to travel to another capital by means of teleportation you need to have bought a pact on your first visit there.
To get there I suggest you look out for homins making a trek, or maybe ask nicely around if anyone would be willing to escort you to another nation, for atys is a dangerous place and travel ain' t easy for refugees.

Welcome to Atys
Travel often comes in two ways, one be with the above mentioned pacts and the other is with friends. Atys have some lovely lands and landscapes that well deserves to be seen.
I hope to meet you soon.

Thanks for the help guys, I didn't know about the pacts. Right now I think I'll concentrate on partying with some people and fighting some more challenging creatures. I think I need to level up some more. If you see me around, ask me to join you if you want!

Teams are an essential part of any MMORPG. With teams you will be able to take on larger, more dangerous creatures. If you get the right people, teams can be great fun.
I don't know why you aren't getting any teams. If you post your ingame name and race I am sure that people will look out for you.
