I'm curious how other roleplayers explain guild, team, and region channels, and tells, IC. Basically, how do you explain long-distance and/or private communication? Telepathy? Technology?

Sending messengers works for me. You have to have some suspension of disbelief (the fact that the messenger is instantaneous).

I also use some of those channels primarily as OOC.

Well i use a q250 Modi Motorolii personal correspondance cube. compatible with No-Kii, Sonyus and O'Berkikson cubes and sap use is pretty good, as is reception and texting, conferencing and hands free are very welcome too.

Hey i use a Motorolii PCC too an MPx Q220 that has a Musicrecording function(mp3 Player ), the around and shout is still done without it(in my RP setting that is )
and i just love the voicedialing function(tell) it gives me instant contact to whoever i know

I treat it that Homins are not that advanced and just treat it as we would talking and hearing. We don't need to know about vibrations, waves, ears, nerves, brain.....

The nano seed that the is mentioned in lore helps us to communicate across long distances.

If I want to communicate to my friend why would he have to be near me?

What I say always goes to exactly who I want to speak to, why wouldn't it?

Tells happen by using specially trained Yubo. The 'wild' Yubo constantly 'mark' Homins, so why not make use of it?

Team/regional/guild chat are done by using mag birdies. For those that don't remember, the ones that come out of the ground and then zoom away. This is the reason there are so many of them!

Personally (ICly) I'm still trying to read minds, but keep failing. Other Homins minds are way to chaotic

I try to RP mostly when im around other people, like in say or in Team.

I consider Tells to be OOC most of the time.

Guilchat..well..thats the exception - it's mostly casual roleplay for me just shows my way of thinking, nothing heavy and i havent thought much about Telepathy or anything like that. Maybe i speak through a comm or something.
