A threat is reborn

Some seasons ago during the dawn of the Kami and Karavan war there was a threat to the Karavan and their ruthless pursuit to destroy the beloved Kami. On the edge of war, the Karavan knew that they would need as many Homins as possible on their side if they were to be successful in their cleansing of the Kami from Atys. Simply removing the threat would surely turn large numbers of Homins against them. A distraction was needed.
Karavan intelligence reported that the Kitin were once again trying to make an advance on the new lands of Atys. What if this could be used as a distraction? Plans were set forth to create a mini invasion that would cause all Homins to work together, distracting them from their true intention.
At the same time the Kami, who are omnipresent on Atys learned of the Karavans evil plan. Going and telling the Homins of this plan simply wasnt an option. Just like the Karavan, the Kami need the Homins help to win the upcoming war. Telling Homins that the Karavan actually caused the Kitin to invade for their own purposes sounded like propaganda. Many Homins would simply think the Kami were lieing and join forces with the Karavan. Other action had to be taken.
Performing an ancient ceremony they called upon Ma-Duk to give them guidance. Ma-Duk told them the only way to prevent the Karavan from succeeding was to trick the Karavan into believing they had succeeded. Then when the time was right, the truth would be told. In order to do this they must grant only the wisest of their Kami friends the skill of transference. With this skill the Homin must seek out that which the Karavan seek to destroy and transfer its essence into amber. The Homin must then transfer the essence into a new form when the time was right. This was the only way of preventing the Karavan atrocity.
So it was done. The Kami used their magic to protect the wisest Homin while they went deep into the Prime Roots of Atys. This was the only place the transfer could happen without the Karavan finding out. Two days later the Karavan carried out their evil plan and removed their perceived threat from Atys. Soon the war started and it became known what the Karavan did. By this time it didnt matter, the lines were drawn and many Homins cheered the Karavan for their action.
It was at this time Ma-Duk appeared and told the wisest Homin that the time was right. The essence was to be transferred from its protective amber to its new form. And so the transfer took place. As soon as the ceremony was completed, the Karavan sensed the threat was back. Karavan intelligence could find nothing, but they knew the Kami well. They knew the Kami magic (which they did not understand) was behind it.
Now is that time. The few who knew of the details of what the Kami did, have kept quiet and unknown to most. The Karavan are on edge as to when exactly the threat will make itself known in its new form. Could this be what causes the Kami to gain the advantage in the war? What exactly was this threat and why was it so feared? Only time will tell.
