I wish we could have a database with this site that had lists of Guild and their memebers.

there have been several attempts at getting a sites set up to do just that. The problem is that it requires everyone to either sign up or be willing to give out their guild roster.
Also, since not everyone uses the forums, its hard to make it a sign up thing since quite a few people wouldn't even know it was there in the first place!

But I agree that something like that would be useful!

EDIT: Looks like the site isn't even up anymore, but you can at least get an idea of how many people signed up and stuff from Uli's post there.

It has to be player generated... I know I have no desire to have our folks listed anywhere we didn't post ourselves.

ok i put up the page here here any guild whanting to add themselvs are free to do so. If it gets popular enogh that the guilds actually use it, i can extract the data and drop it here to keep a post updated...

In another game that is no longer around, the company sponcered the database. They had access to the number of guild there were and they had access to whom was in which guild.

They did not put anymore information then the guild name and the list of members. It made it easier to find the guild of say a friend, or a person that jumps from guild to guild, if they were trustworthy. It helped to keep guilds stronger imo. but then aagain its just an oppinion,
