Ryzom

Hi, I'm new to Ryzom and since installation yesterday I have what appears to be the same crash 5-10 mins after logging into the world. This crash has happened everytime thusfar. Here is the last log:

I hope this will shed some light on my situation, any help would be most appreciated!!

Also when I attempt to click on "debug" in the error log window I recieve a visual runtime error and the program closes, when I click "ignore" I recieve "this application has encountered a problem and needs to close" message.

If you don't get any reply here, you can also try Klients so you can talk to some CSRs "face to face"

Things to try:

- force a repatch of the game executable files
delete the string_cache files found in DATA folder
delete UNPACK folder
launch game

- disable EAX and lower number of sound tracks

- redo video drivers
especially if you did not remove the older version and reboot before running the newer video driver install

- check your cooling fins and fans
make sure they are dust free and running at peak performance

Ok thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I followed the above steps and now I seem to be able to stay in game for around an hour, but still recieve the same error. I also recieved this error on my latest attempt to play:

Illegal Instruction exception generated at 0x6586E6.
The thread tried to execute an invalid instruction -such as MMX opcodes on a non MMX system. Branching to an invalid location can cause this -something stack corruption often causes.

Is there anything further I can do?

Two things I would recommend:


Underclock the video card a bit(won't affect game performance cause Ryzom should be restricted by the processor for you).

If that doesnt help then lower your motherboard FSB a few MHz if you can. I found that my AMD 2400+ crashes over a FSB of 128 while playing Ryzom, the default FSB being 133 MHz. I run it at 125 and have not crashed in months.

It looks like things are crashing on teleport.

Make sure port UDP 47851 is open in your firewall and forwarded in your router.

Lower your LoD settings for landscape and characters, this will help in loading times as not as much data/textures will be loaded right away.

It could also be sound issues. Disable music at the least.
