Last weekend's defense of Berello Gorge

Sorry I'm a bit late with this, but Pegasus Foundation wishes to publicly thank all of the guilds that joined in the defense of Berello Gorge over the weekend. We tried to jot down all of the guild names we saw, but there were so many, it's possible we missed one. If so, my deepest apologies. Here's the guilds who helped us:

Aedan Artisans, Ballistic Mystix, Brassica Oleracea, Cara Via, Citizens of Matis, Evolution, The Forsaken Souls, Guardians of Life, Legion of Atys, Melinoe, OmegaV, Order of the Dragonblades, Order of the Nameless, Reapers of the Dark and Wanderlust

The guild names I saw attacking was a bit shorter, but that could have more to do with having only seen most of you during the initial attack and just missing someone:

Atys Wayfarers (declarers), Infinity, Mystic Knights of Atys, Riders of the Storm, The Soul and Twighlight Whispers

As you can guess from the relative size differences, once the initial fight ended, it was all over but the name-calling. I wish that part could have been left at home. Maybe if we each had some way to communicate with our allies without shouting our discussion across the entire region, that wouldn't have happened so much (devs, please give us Attacker and Defender channels).

(OOC: We do not hold any animosity over having been attacked. In our opinion, attacking an outpost is part of the purpose of them. As is defending it with every friend you can find. :) So the rest of what I'm about to say is RP only; again, we do not personally have any anger over any of this. Our characters on the other hand...)

We're still discussing what price there should be for attempting to invade sacred Matis lands.... Such an outrage should have consequences.

Albeit technically a desert, Hidden Source belongs to the Matis. PF is a Matis citizen and takes the defense of this land quite seriously in both our own name as well as for the sake of the kingdom. Also (even though Spires are not in-game yet), we regard the Matis lands as Karavan aligned and defend it in their name as well. This is in full support of the Matis kingdom's proclamation of being fully Karavan aligned.

After the initial attack, Mshadow claimed it was all a mistake and that they attacked only because they thought the outpost was unclaimed. This may or may not be true; I'm loathe to call any homin a liar without proof.

Does it really matter though? You did attack and you did attempt to take possession of Karavan/Matis lands. Minor attacks continued even after you realized it was a claimed outpost, but those may have been allied guilds only. It is possible we will accept recompense for this outrage, but even that is unsure. You will need to contact Heavyn directly to discuss such issues.

Thanks again to our friends. If we continue to stand united like this, any further aggression will continue to be repelled. If you need our assistance in the defense of your outpost, feel free to contact us directly. Heavyn is our guild leader; Rder and I are the High Officers. If you can't find one of us, feel free to leave a message on with any of our members; it'll get to us.

(OOC first: This is how OP's should be and I would like to thank all the guilds involved for making it a good and fair fight. Many people who are considered evil for whatever reason have been taking stands, fighting till the end and overall showing great valour. Also the several rebound attacks of the invading force against a force more then twice their size showed of a strong will and heart, kodus to that too! Thanks for not shouting at me for being neutral and takig screens and being generally in the way while doing so. 140 screenshots were taken, all using a seperate desktop that has all windows removed but kept character and guildnames in place. This had a side effect of not showing the several chats, let's call that added value ;-) I am looking forward to the next fight that will be good as this (and might even join in for whatever reason my neutral heart thinks up). Screenshot I will have to sort out and post in a gallery far far away, please hold untill further notice...)

This was one of the largest battles I've been in to date and I loved the mechanics of how everything worked. Fantastic battle and hopefully more to come.

I loved the furiousity in the chats and it raged me on. I was on the forefront of the battle and was knocked down only twice. This is a great victory for us (Pegasus-Foundation). Now we know who our trusts are with.

MAY THE FUTURE BE ROT WITH BLOOD! and.........Yubo Burgers! :)

HOO RAWW,

I dunno if Frydes does, but one of ours took pics too. I shall simply quote what our correspondent said in his original post:
Silania wrote:Special note should go to screenshot 51. Soleca from Order of the Dragonblades. Respect to you sir for using your own unique style of psychological warfare on the enemy.

I don't know about the enemy, but I'm certainly scarred for life.

Lmao it's so rare I really have a good laugh but thats a brilliant quote Silania, but not what you said to me then *cries* :P Oh and its an honour to be screenied, where was that quote from though originally!

And if thats scarred you Oudknoei then you should start a careline and support group for the rest of the dragonblades.

It was a pleasure to be there though and I thank both the attacks and the defenders for good clean conduct, unlike my own :)

Sil posted that pic and comment on our website. Since someone else mentioned it, I thought I'd share it.

TBH, the scariest thing is that hat. Where did you get that evil evil hat?!?

ahh thankyou lol, such pictures should be screened indeed before the public see's them I hope your guild wasn't too mentally scarred by it :P

The hat is an intelligent and totally superior polymorphic lifeform that symbiotically co-exists with me in the guise of the hat availble from matis hairdressers, due to it's total superiority over all homin life it often provokes feelings of fear and disgust and takes a lot of flak from my guild for it;s overwhelming style. I'd like to say it deals with it well but it certainly hasn't disuaded it from it's plan for total planetary domination but alas no such luck.

One day all homins shall bow down before the hat...
