SWG Refugee

Hello Atys!

Its been a long journey from Tatooine, but I'm now happilly settling in on the Tryker Island. Two days in and I'm already loving the diversity of this game as dearly as I did Galaxies' before it was killed. Being able to compose my own template of skills and even my own Actions is a lot of fun, and not having patronising tutorials explaining it all to me gives a true sense of exploration.

I'm looking to go down the mixed combat/crafting path, with enough foraging skills to be self-sufficient in what I make. I'd also like to get involved with the community, find a guild and settle in. Any advice's gladly welcomed.

Seeya around =)

welcome Kemuel to your new home

Been looking at SWG a bit, must say its a shame about the whole NGE thing, but on the other hand nice to see some nice new tats (tattoine refugees :P ) in atys. i understand you tattuinies are used to harvest for water, here on atys, we forrage more for specific materials to make great items or just sell for our currency, Dapper.

the main thing to remember is that we are a community, striving to survive against the ever threatening kitin, because of this, everyone must pull together, stand together at the hardest times and unite. for this reason, dont ever be affraid to send someone a /tell or ask in region chat a question that may seem simple.

there are quite a few SWG guys joining latly for obvious reasons.

if you wanna be a fighter, ask in region for team, if you wanna be a healer, again offer your services in region chat dont be afraid. if you wanna be a harvester/crafter look at the vendors in the city, find a good trader and send him/her a /tell. every time they will answer any questions or give advice.

theres a section on this website named "guilds" browse and read, even put in a request as to what you are looking for, we will suggest three or four guilds that will suit your needs/long term plans

you wont always be able to find teams due to population size, dont let this put you off, use this spare time to dig, the mats (materials) can be sold to the vendors for dappers, these can be used for tps (teleports).

in time when your guild feels you have sufficient levels, they will take you to new lands, this will increase your available gameplay fourfold

the most important thing is joining a good guild

have fun, "/tell scarazi" if you need anything

and welcome :)

Hey there,

I too am a SWG refugee and have been here since the 1st of Dec.
I played on Bloodfin with the ICE Dragons.
Me and a few of my fellow guildies came here and are having a hard time trying to get the rest of the guild to follow. Hopefully they will come along soon. We've been hooking up with Team Spirit there and have been learning the game as we go. Very fun, nice people and lots of exciting changes for the better coming along. Unlike the SWG changes... I think you will really enjoy yourself here.

If you need a hand look me up
My name is Oomo in game, also with me is Daylight, Bacca, and Faid. All from Bloodfin.

Have a little fun learning the basics and seeing who is about before diving into a guild. Read the lore and decide where you want to stand, if anywhere, in the faction/cult situation.

Your going to have to make some decisions that will affect your game and you'll be glad you did...

Thanks very much! Its great to hear Ryzom's reputation for great players isn't misplaced. Just browsing around the forums I'm amazed at how intelligent the discussion is, how few flames and counter flames and trolls and trollhunts there are. Its such a change from the Galactic Civil War raging in all aspects of Galaxies.

I was an Eclipse player there, a member of the town Mos Quito Hills. The city was the very first on Tatooine back in Beta (regardless of what Mos Kashyyyk say). 20 houses neatly organised in to two rows forming a high street, before the player cities officially were introduced. Wish I could have seen those days, but most of my Guildmates were two and a half year vets from back then. It was truly sad to go after filling the post of Mall Tailor for over a year, but the CU culled our ranks, and then the NGE all but finished us off. Hoping some of my friends will come to join me, but its wishful thinking.

Ryzom's handling of resources makes foraging and digging around a lot more interesting than following a percentile number to the highest concentration and dropping a harvester. Unearthing explosive/toxic gas while gathering moss seems a little OTT, but I sure as hell won't try leaving to get a drink mid gathering again ^^;

Once I find my feet outside the Tryker Island I'll start looking for a guild to join, don't be surprised if you get a /tell ingame from Kemuel looking for advice =)

Oh yeah, got a question concerning the factional standing. Is it possible for Jena's people to turn to the Kami side? The Tryker's ideology holds pretty true to mine, but I disagree with their belief in the Karavan and ultimately in Jena.

Thanks again for all the support!

Every Tryker can worship and/or follow whatever he likes; be it Jena, be it Ma-Duk, be it just paying lip-service to the powers.
If you work hard enough for it and set your mind on something, nothing is unatainable.

But seen how the Karavan' s belief has rooted itself strongly lately in the Lakelands, it surely won' t be easy to be a Tryker Kamist, but not impossible.

Hey Kemuel, very happy other SWG-ers enjoy Ryzom as much as I do. We moved here after the cataclysm with a good part of our guild. We're still learning and it's beautiful. Feel free to contact any of us if you need company. (most online Faa, Janann, Jaawa, Goupi, Criro, Rihek, Spangle... )

Hello fellow refugees, and all of Atys!

Yep, I'm here as a result of the NGE also - My main chars were/are on Intrepid. I haven't cancelled there just *yet*, but I feel it coming soon.

I'm just 27% through my Trial download, so I'm trying to do some reading while that's going on. I'm truely amazed and OMGosh am I relieved to see a forum with such friendly and *happy* people posting - it surely is a nice change!

I remember checking out this website back when Ryzom was in closed beta - I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner to give it a try. I think it would have saved me a lot of heartache. Ah well...all things happen for a reason!

Good to see all you fellow refugees here - too bad it's under these circumstances though. Hope to see you soon in-game!

Lexi (will probably be "Sinaya" in-game, if the name isn't taken)

NGE sucked, but it led me here. So I got over it. :) Gimme a tell and we can reflect on the good old days of glowsticks, exploding corvettes, and slaying Krayts. See ya ingame.
