It is with a heavy heart

It is with a heavy heart that I write these lines.
My name is Thosam. A few of you may know me. That crazy, chatty Tryker digging a bit, jewelling a bit, always talking a lot, always ready with an opinion.
I have today cancelled my subscription for SoR. So on January 10th my days here on Atys end.
I like this game very much. I have been on Atys since Open Beta 1. I was a Focus Beta tester. Ive been playing more or less consistently since release. I survived Patch 1. I am still convinced that SoR was/is a very much needed different take on mmorpgs, both gameplay and graphics-wise.
But I am a neutral. Im a Trytonist and loudnproud war resister and I really do not like the way the game is developing. I am in favour that those who decide to actively take part in the Kami-Karawan Wars get rewarded, that they get all sorts of swag and titles and such. After all, they engage themselves in the game for their faction and fight for it.
What I do not favour and what was the deciding point for me, is that I, who equally active and consciously decided not to take part in PvP or FvF or the Kami-Karawan Wars, because that would violate both my in-game and out-game philosophy, and because I think SoRs skills arent balanced enough for it to be fair and feasible, will have my game options reduced so much, that it appears almost not worth playing.
So I decided to cancel my subscription. It wasnt easy. All players make an investment in the games they play, not just time- and money-wise, but also emotionally. For there is so much I will miss.
- My crazy, friendly, mad guildies in Evolution.
- Yubos running around your feet, sniffing at you, widdling at you while digging.
- the sight of flocks of izams respawning around you in mad flapping abundance on Izam Isle
- Caprynis screaming my ears off when Im prospecting in a herd of them.
- fields of glowing pollens slowly rising and dancing round me at night.
- wild and weird chat sessions at Fairhaven stables and at Thesos Pub Nights
- watching the cloppers migrating through Winds of Muse in winter
- watching gingos hunt and fight yubos for food and sometimes even loose.
I could list so many more things. But right now I have to leave this all behind.
I will continue reading the forums and the Chronicles, and maybe I will return some day. But until then I bid you all a heartfelt and almost tear-full good-bye and fare-thee-well. Be assured I will miss many of you.
Thosam will live on in other worlds, try looking for him elsewhere, either follow the trail of an Italian Renaissance painter into the unknown of space or find what lies hidden.
