Please open the outer roots!

It's like pandora's box for me and others I have spoken to about the topic. We see plantlife and sometimes the occassional quadraped running about on the outer root system and it is in our blood to want to explore to see what else might be found. This seems to me to be a great place to put an entirely new ecosystem with much more challenging monsters and animals, well protected supreme materials, and wide-open, unmonitored homin versus homin combat. No teleporters need to be created and no Kami/Karavan presence is necessary.

It only stands to reason that this would be the next realm in line for hominity to explore. The next great frontier will be chock full of danger, teaming with adventure, and the next great challenge of our glorious species. Who knows? You might even see a level 250 flying Yubo with wings of gossamer that can be used to make entirely new types of clothing and perhaps even flying machines!

DISCLAIMER: This has been brought to you by the cavernous mind of a bored little Tryker. Yes, we tend to think big to compensate for our small stature.

Doit.

Get R², make your own branch good enough to be taken into the "World" and enjoy.

(Disclaimer: This is brought to you by a still not that much bored Matis, who just can´t wait to get his fingers on R² ;) )

I do believe you must be blind. They call the phenomenon a canopy, but where is the foliage? I see nothing but an extention of the root system which is a part of our living planet.

In vascular plants, the root is that organ of a plant body that typically lies below the surface of the soil (compare with stem). However, this is not always the case, since a root can also be aerial (that is, growing above the ground) or aerating (that is, growing up above the ground or especially above water). On the other hand, a stem normally occurring below ground is not exceptional either (see rhizome). So, it is better to define root as a part of a plant body that bears no leaves, and therefore also lacks nodes. There are also important internal structural differences between stems and roots. The two major functions of roots are 1) absorption of water and inorganic nutrients and 2) anchoring the plant body to the ground.

In botany, a rhizome is a usually-underground, horizontal stem of a plant that often sends out roots and shoots from its nodes. They are also referred to as creeping rootstalks, or rootstocks.

Coincidence?
