Hi I started my 7 day trial last night having spent the day searching for a new home.

I've been playing these games since Everquest was released many years ago now, and I've tried so many, but it's all getting a little stale stepping from one treadmill to another, so I was looking for something different.

I have to say I'm simply blown away by what I've seen and read so far, I just wish I'd found this game earlier. I spent a few hours in game last night and I loved it, it looks stunning and feels unique, I had the strong urge to just explore and not having my future mapped out in a rigid 'level' system made for a very relaxing intriguing experience.

I'm now reading the backstory and history to get up to date on the lore then I'll start a new character based on that acquired knowledge.

Regards,

Hope your stay is a long and enjoyable one.

If you have questions along the way, you will find the community here and in game very helpful. Don't hesitate to ask questions, you'll get plenty of helpful answers. ;)

Once you've decided on a race, I suggest you hit the mainland as soon as you can. This will help you find more folks and learn faster. Everything that can be learned on noob island, can be done on the mainland as well.

Welcome!

I also am an old EQ hand and when I told my partner that for me to consider any other MMORPG that it would have to be radically different to the EQ / WoW style he wasn't very optimistic.
Then he found SoR and I've been here ever since, it's just keeps getting better.
If like me the one thing you loved about EQ was the guild friendships and community on the most part, then you will definitley never want to leave Atys, the community is one of the most helpful and friendly you will ever find.

Once you have decided fully where you want your homins path to lead, be it Kara or Kami or Neutral, learning the basics on the Starter Island will be more than enough, I stayed til lvl 20 i think and I found the transition very smooth when I went to the mainland.

Looking forward to meeting you and don't hesitate to /tell Kyella for any help I can give.
