Ryzom

Greetings everyone!

I'm basically brand new to Ryzom at this point. New enough that my highest skill is still that 20 needed to get off of the starting location. That said, I'm fairly eager to get involved in the community.

I'm looking for a guild focused on RP. My current character is a young Matis by the name of Demios who has just been let go into the world. He knows that Jena is deep in his people's blood and that the Goddess provides tangible benefits through the Karavan to his people. However, something about the Kami whispers to his mind and causes him hesitation.

I am seeking a guild that is one of two kinds.

1) A Matis community. The Matis are a monarchy. Is there anyone out there that has formed their guild to be a Barony perhaps? This could be very entertaining, being part of a territory that has a noble caste and tries to function as an actual mini-kingdom.

2) A group dedicated to exploring the spiritual side of Atys. People who work to uncover the truth of the Kami and the Karavan both, and what role the Kitin play in the whole picture.

Either of these sound like exciting prospects to me, and I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that could fill this role! I'm guessing (since I'm still new here) that my usual playing times will be about 7pm to 11pm Eastern Standard Time with some chance of showing up Saturdays from 10am-3pm and any time of day on Sunday.

I might have two names for you then.
The first would be Melinoe; a noble guild of mainly Matis; 100% loyal to King Yrkanis and devout followers of Jena' s faith.
The second one would be Order of the Dragonblades; again a guild of mainly Matis; they are more a chivalric order with a strict code.

I suggest you search these out or at least try to get some information from the source itself.

As for the spirituality thing you' re after.... a lot of the guilds on Atys are after unraveling the mysteries of the powers that be and the knowledge they possess. But most likely you will find the most spiritual in one extreme or the other.
Ofcourse there are those guilds that prefer to take a more neutral position towards it, pay respect to both but keep their eyes and ears open at the same time.

.... then there' s talk of homins rumoured to be interested in the ways of Elias Tryton, scheming, plotting, thwarting and trying to uncover the real truth behind these powers. But best not to talk openly about this because even mentioning this might brand you a ... heretic or a public hazard in some parts of Atys.

But I' m sure some more information could be obtained about this if one is willing to pay a certain 'fee' to the right kind of homin.

Always interesting to read your words Kyerna, and thanks for the info about us... all of which you said being true I want to interject to help this homin a bit more.

We don't RP really, we play our role in Atys as best we can but thats not the same. When an event requires PvP or FvF activity, we are all over it... once the event ends so does our rivalry with folks. Now we wont typically make them gear or hang out with Kami followers, but teaming for a hunt or something is not a problem as our folks are not told who their friends are IG.

OotD or Cara Via may be more RP suited towards his tastes... Of course we take anyone devoted to Jena and our simple rules. Just want to be sure you know we are not true Role Players, we just play our role.

I highly recommend the Order of the Dragonblades if you're interested in an active, friendly guild with a strong rp foundation and no strong faction loyalty. They are not aligned with either faction, but are a really good fit for your "option 2".

I thank Doubletap for the mention, however, Cara Via is committed to the support of Jena and the Karavan, and is also a multiracial and somewhat democratic guild. Although we are based in Yrkanis, we don't seem to match either of the profiles for guilds you are interested in joining. We are neither a Matis aristocracy nor are we seeking enlightenment from the Kami =)
