Synn's dream - the creation of Atys

Post by kibsword »

I am posting this here on behalf of my dear friend, Lady Synn. This is a tale about a dream she had, and I hope you all enjoy it.

--- The Creation of Atys ---

Homins, hearken to the story of my dreams. A dream that was so intense, that it seems worthy of sharing. A dream that perhaps was not sent by higher forces but maybe the overall call of those homins that can not find their place in this battle, the homins that seek equality and a time of peace and not intrigues. This is what came to me in the night…

“Once upon a time, there were 3 Godly Sisters creating worlds and creatures that we haven’t even heard off or have had a peek on. These sisters were the creators of lands and life.

One day, they decided to build a master piece. A planet that was supposed to be full of diversities, of different species and landscapes. A planet, different from all the others.
This planet was given the name Atys and is our world.

All three of the sister invested a lot of work and fantasy into this special world and they were very creative about its flora and fauna. Each species received a gift from one of the Goddesses. And once they were almost done, they had a look at their newest creation and were quite proud on what they had achieved.

However, the oldest of the sisters had one more creation to set free upon Atys.
It was a strange creation, with no fur, feathers or scales, with no fangs or claws and walking on two legs. The two younger sisters, Jena and Ma-Duk wondered how this species was supposed to survive on this planet without being physically adapted to the environments.

“These creatures don’t need natural weapons or armor. They will be able to create and build them themselves. They will be able to think and to cross some of their instincts, they will be able to learn and teach and they will grow wiser with time and experiences.”
The two younger sisters looked at this strange, naked creature, full of doubt but yet fascinated.
And as the oldest Goddess saw this, she offered her two sisters to help her to create a diversity of this new species, which she called Homins.

This is how the different races of the Homins were created, each Goddess gave them a gift or talent or simply something special that would make them different from the other Homins.
One gift that all of the four Homin races received was the gift of voice and speech so that they might tell stories about the three sisters

Once they were done, they looked at their creations with motherly warmth and love and they felt a pain as the oldest sister set their newest children free on the new world. As they watched the Homins grow and learn over time, a type of jealousy started to rise between Jena and Ma-Duk, each one envious of the achievements the sisters Homins had made.

Over time this grew into rivalry, mistrust and anger and both sisters created another race to watch over their Homins and that would give them a report of any new achievements the rivals had made and if the Goddesses had helped their children. Those races are the Kamis and the Karavans, as we know them now.

This rivalry wasn’t for long unnoticed by the oldest of the sisters and she started to worry about the family peace that used to exit between the three sisters. She felt guilty for creating this thorn of anger and hatred between her kin and made a decision that was supposed to remove this thorn.

When the Jena and Ma-Duk had left Atys for a small break and rest, the oldest of the sister used this moment to set up her plan. “My idea and creation has spoiled my family and the love between my sisters. Now if this is the reason for our family bonds being destroyed, then my creation had to be destroyed to restore the peace and harmony.” While saying this to herself, she planted an unknown thread and danger into Atys, deep inside the world, knowing that her Homins, driven by the need for knowledge would eventually open a way to the monstrous insects, the Kitins. After this deed, the oldest sister left Atys forever.

The two sisters still mistrusted each other and eyed each other suspiciously until….
well until the Homins did what the oldest had foreseen, until they opened a way to the hidden lair of the Kitins. Jena and Ma-Duk didn’t believe what they saw, their precious Homins being slaughtered and devoured by an immense mass of giant Insects for one moment they forgot about their rivalry and tried to save as many as possible with their superior races, the Kamis and the Karavans.

After this deed was done Ma-Duk and Jena blamed each other for this mess and for trying to destroy the other ones Homins, both blind to the fact that both factions had immense losses.
The short period of peace between the sisters was quickly forgotten and ever since the jealousy, the mistrust and the hatred between Kami and Karavan and their followers has been growing.

And until now, there is no sign of Jena and Ma-Duk ever embracing each other in love and hope again caring for nothing but hope and peace among the Hominkind.”

See what I saw! Feel what I felt! This dream is a call for peace and not for raging war amongst all of us Homins. Heed my words and my vision and fight for nothing but peace.
