Community Jury format

Would a community jury format work better to quell the cries of injustice?

Community Jury:

CSR creates poll with explanation of the offense,
Players vote, result is used as suggestion to CSR who makes the final call.

I think it would make this whole situation more transparent.

I like what Xavier is doing but I think I am in the minority.

No, I don't think such matters should get community involvement personally. It could inflame or embarass the person in question. imo it should be left between the player and csr.

yea, I think its better to stay the way it is now. If we get into the whole voting thing, its more a popularity contest. The friends of that char will vote for him, reagardless of what he did, and those who have a grudge, will vote them down simply because of some past wrong.

i quite agree that any disciplinary action should be implemented by the csr and not deided on by the player base. nice idea but would just be, as tot said, a poularity contest. however in some way we do have a jury. alot of the csr team are volunteers who have applied to become guildes etc. not sure how much power they have in diciplinary matters but they started off as gamers.

Good to see that all the posts are on my side, that the CSRs do the job well enough alone :-) .

Good job Xavier!

Do not take silence at a silly suggestion to twist to your likes...

The CSR team has their share of bias as witnessed in previous threads in the past. But this isn't about them....

The last thing anyone in the community needs is the peanut gallery voting on anything dealing with an individuals rights, Nevrax and Jolt have a vested interest in fairness (percieved at least), the communities votes have gotten us nowhere quick on many previous votes/issues.

Any community jury would be hand picked. Work it out for yourself. Unless of course somebody has already helped you?

I don't think the players should make such decisions as we're too invested in the game to think objectively. Likewise, I don't think Xavier or anyone else at Nevrax should really be the one making decisions about forum moderation as they're too emotionally invested in the development of the game.

I think it should be left in the hands of Jolt. It's not to say that they're not passionate about the game, just that they have the best shot at looking at things objectively.
